UK UK-First Inpatient Medical Cannabis Policy

Really enjoyed reading this article. This is great information and i think this is a pivotal point in the UK MC scene. I would assume this is all centred around any NHS Trusts duty of care to all of their patients and its a very important step for sure. Still i would think this needs to be handled in a delicate way because I just cant see patients being allowed to vape in a ward with other non MC users. This would be a massive infringement of their rights and medical treatment so it will be interesting to see how this will be handled. Interesting times.

This is being followed up with all NHS bodies, Integrated Care Boards, and Controlled Drug Accountable Officers across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, sharing the CD21 SOP and the recommendations, and calling on them to develop equivalent policies without delay.
Fantastic, thanks for the original post and this follow up news, real breakthrough for de-stigmatising our medicines!

Just realised that this should probably have been in the advocacy section… @OldBloke @GrownHealth could you advise please?

Just to add that there is now a patient template available so that you can write to your local NHS Trust to find out their policy. Better to find out and challenge before you need you use the inpatient service. Please advocate for yourself and complete the template, most of the fields pre populate.

I like it where it is in UK, may get buried under other stuff elsewhere. Can it be stickied I wonder... has a rummage. Great find btw!

EDIT I don't have the power to sticky, sounds like 75% of MC ...
