Just had my second chat with a doc from Alternaleaf after being lost in the system for over 2 weeks and having to chase them several times. I didn't realise that they only use Montu and don't prescribe from anywhere else so I ended up with lavendar cake. The doc did some recommendations but I didn't have any time to think on the call, she was hurrying me around 7 minutes in, so I will need to work with that for this month. Planning to shift to Medicann who do access several pharmacies and don't charge for consultations.
I went for the one off £39 pay as you go and suspect they are geared up primarily for the membership deal which is probably why I got lost in their system for weeks. Its been a frustrating onboarding process with very little actual information tailored to my condition. Without MedBud I would have been thinking of giving up as I did not feel empowered nor do I have a lot of knowledge about flowers so I am super grateful for this resource right here. My experience of alternaleaf is that their system is very efficiency driven with no patient support as far as I can see.

Once I get my meds I'm going on a learning curve to make butter and chocolates. I'm massively grateful to be able to access this medicine legally and looking forward to life.

It's a shame isn't it alernaleaf used to be great but this switch to only prescribe things in the montu formulary is turning me away too. I'm not sure about medicann though as far as I know they are even more locked down than alternaleaf and paved the way for that sort of thing in many ways but they do have some positives like quick service and unlimited requests instead of one per month. Completely agree with your feeling though alternaleaf have always felt very much profit focussed. At least medicann don't have a range of partner products they try and steer you towards at any opportunity.

Good to see you are finally a patient but it has been a confusing start and I'm just glad you saw it through and you can make any adjustments clinic wise if you feel the need but also have the time to look in more detail what would suit you and your needs as each of us prioritise different things from our Medical Journey's.

A few here are making chocolates and similar and noting their methods and ingredients so hopefully this will help you with your endeavours

Well this sucks to read mate. I'm sorry they've not lived up to expectations for you so far.

I do just want to clarify a few things so you're not left feeling even more mugged off on your journey.

As @williemed pointed out, Medicann are very locked down and you can only order from their pharmacy.

I left Alternaleaf before they changed things up with other pharmacies but I was under the impression you could still order from other pharmacies but it can only be on stock Montu provide. Therefore its only worthwhile if they're OOS.

Most if not all clinics won't let you take your prescription to an alternative pharmacy on script 1. They technically should but for whatever reason there's usually pushback. The reason I mention that is because when you submit your own scripts with AL there's always been a drop down to send to your preferred pharmacy.

Also, fwiw Medicann don't have consultations really. Your doctors call is more a formality to accept you after they review your records, then there's no further reviews after that point. So if speaking to a doctor and getting sound medical support is vital then I would probably reconsider Medicann.

The last thing I'd want is for you to speak to Medicann and then to feel even more let down than you are already. There's plenty of good clinics on the market that offer plenty of time and support as well as access to various pharmacies. CB1 Medical, Cannabis Clinic Cardiff, Integro and maybe even Curaleaf could be fantastic alternatives for you. Most of them low cost.

Class mate yes please

- 2 x Vegan Galaxy Chocolate Bars (200g total)
- 5g ABV very finely chopped (the ABV I use has only been vaped between 170 and 190 so it still smells nice)

1. Bain Marie, melt the chocolate
2. Mix in the ABV and stir for a few minutes until well mixed
3. Scoop the chocolate mix into the bottom of a Chinese take away tub, into the fridge 15mins until nearly solidified again
4. Take out the tub and score lines in the block to divide it up into 32 pieces (half, then half the halves and so on)
5. Snap all the chunks up and put back in the fridge until solid...

If you want a proper patient care model, where you can order anything from anywhere in any number of requests based on your limits, I recommend my clinic

Cannabis Clinic Cardiff are fantastic, my consultations are worthwhile and truly beneficial, I can email my doctor for things outside of the normal consultations - I recently got my oil allowance updated based on an email exchange instead of having to wait for consultation

The staff will go above and beyond, their response times are consistently sharp.

It's pricey though, so it comes down to money as usual, but if you can afford it it's worth it I say

You should be good once joining Medicann and there really quick so shouldn’t take you long especially as just swapping clinics now technically and I wouldn’t expect much as that’s one always just sits on our menu at £55 I think but yeah you get to see everything before having to choose and everybody here will help you try to make choices though everything works differently and if completely new to cannabis all together then just take it slowly as don’t want to put yourself off but yet need that relief but I’m so happy I joined them there’s only one other clinic I’d probably consider yet even then we seem to just get more freedom with Medicann and treated like adults the dr said to me get your mates to help you choose if it helps you and a nurse will call you first go through your medical stuff then if they say you will get call off de it will be short just to say he excepts you and that you will be able to order and assess all the meds says usually by next day but be within few hours and as long as you order by 2.30pm get nnd by 1pm for £4.99 but so far so good I thought I’d try them first as free but can’t see me moving stock can change daily too sometimes be 80 flowers next minute 120’ so there’s plenty of choice and lots of different strengths so you can figure out whsts best for you
