Hi mate,
So I think the first thing is that it's not the same and it doesn't feel quite the same in terms of the high experience.
You will likely use less weed, Dry Herb Vaporisers tend to be very good at conserving your bud compared to smoking.
There's 3 types of vaping. Conduction, Convection and Hybrid.
Conduction heats the bud itself, most people say this feels more stoney in the effects.
Convection is where you draw hot air over the flower, this tends to provide a lighter experience that some people describe as wispy.
A Hybrid is a mix of the two.
If you're a joint smoker you will find it harder to replicate the experience but many patients use this as an opportunity to move away from tobacco or they use a disposable nicotine vape along with it.
My recommendation for anyone looking to convert is to get a Dynavap. They have cheap versions like the B. Or the new G3, both under £50.
They use a torch lighter, so this keeps the ritual of smoking alive, I find this to be an overlooked component of trying to make the switch.
A Dynavap technically is Hybrid in heating but I find it to be more conduction than anything. You do get that stoney feeling that is a bit similar to smoking.
If the idea of a torch lighter isn't for you, then you can get induction heaters like the ispire wand which is brilliant.
If you don't like the idea of the Dynavap then you venture into convection heavy devices, which isn't worse it's just a more different experience.
There are loads of different electronic devices and I think the budget is important here. You can get usable devices for around £100-£130. You can get premium devices at £250+.
If you're going cheaper then something like the Arizer Air Max, Arizer Solo II, I think the Roffu is a nice device as well.
I don't like the Mighty or Venty personally. I think they're outdated and no longer offer best in class. That said loads of people love them. Although I definitely wouldn't recommend them if you're giving up smoking.
The Arizer Solo III is very good, so is the TM2 and the brand new Frolic. The Frolic is well built but the other 2 use glass stems which can be an issue for some people.
Then there's desktops, I'm not overly knowledgeable on the best ball vapes and things if that nature so I won't speak on those.
There's a lot out there and many of us end up buying them endlessly as a bit of a hobby. VAS (Vape Acquisition Syndrome) is the name for it.
