How obvious... Why did it never occur to me before?

I found that ISO along with putting some Epsom Salts inside the glass. You cover any holes, shake it, and the salts abrade the filth off really well (and don't dissolve), then just pour/rinse everything out

That's expensive to be honest. Cheapest food rock food salt is perfect. I just use cheapo normal salt anyway. I don't combust, so my glass is never recaked in nightmare layers of gunk.
