Clinics ⚠️ CB1 Medical: Patient/Clinic Data Breach

I've decided to continue being caught between a rock and a hard place and I've waited way too long to get this sorted and seem to be in the process atm after a reply to the pharmacy email.
We will see how things pan out !
 
i am in free fall after this had 2 panic attacks already today ,, is there any one out there seeking legal advice , i mentioned on more then one occassion to CB1 Medical that i was concerned about problems with security , after i started to have payments taken from my account after paying over the phone with the pharmacy for my medication , 20 mins later i had a string of attempts for anything from pizza being ordered and high price goods as well
Alright mate, if you can try to relax, no personal financial information has been taken. What had happened to you could have been from anywhere where you have used your card. Coincidence.

I administer business networks and systems, network admin. have also worked with ecrime wales, and government systems.

I do agree most from philshing, but also many via a bad actor or ex staff member who took data, but from what i have been told this was not the case just a bad actor took the pdf from the system.

Only compromised on your full names, current private medical treatment and contact details? - yes i say only in the sense thank god no card details or passport photos.

Rogue actors are definitely high on the list for sure, I've had instances myself where former team members have tried to fuck us over. Luckily never successful.

I do agree in the 'only' in the could have been a lot worse context. I'm hoping CB1 Medical are smart enough to log activity and get to the bottom of this easily.

I don't think this will amount to much in terms of the data breach itself but the 10 weeks availability side of things has left me very disappointed.

Btw, I can have a habit of being a bit hot-tongued without realising, I don't think I've said anything wild but if I have caused any offence at any point then please do call me out and I'll happily apologise, no bother.

I'm sure the whirlwind 🌪️ of all this isn't fun to read, there's been a lot of speculation here. Almost all of it from me to be fair, so I felt I probably owed it to some of you to speak a little differently on it.

As a few of the chaps have said, the data leaked is names, emails and recent script history. The chances of someone doing anything with this information is almost nil.

As Moon as mentioned today, it appears they have their eyes towards a bad actor which at minimum implies a disgruntled employee rather than a crime syndicate doing something dirty.

The issue around your card payments is certainly odd but I would be pretty confident that is a separate issue.

I've been phished before, without knowing details I would probably lean towards a phishing scam taking your details but it's impossible to know for sure and I don't want to insult your intelligence.

Have you managed to get this sorted with a new bank card?

These details have been available for 10 weeks, I think if someone was going to try and use them for anything they would have already tried.

For the most part, the data and now likely method of the leak would lead me to thinking you're safe here.

In case you've not read the full thread, I do have a bit of experience dealing with things like this at work, perhaps not as much as some but enough to hopefully put your mind at ease with regards to the extent this may go to for you.

I would hope CB1 learn from this and become the most secure clinic in the industry as a result.

NICE ONE BUDDY , SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT TRYING TO RELAX IS NOT A OPTION FOR SOME OF US AND ANY AMOUNT OF INFO IS TO MUCH TO BE LEAK

ANY AMOUNT OF INFO IS TO MUCH , SADLY MY MENTAL HEALTH DOES NOT ALLOW FOR TRYING TO RELAX opps sorry for the caps , and a common form of cloning deatils is operators sent in to record deatils as they are being processed ver the phone , as just beeen doing this for the last 4 years processing card payments for a major uk Taxi company and operators should not be repeating everything back its a massive security red flag , and was bought to there attention , i pay cash for everything when outside , cards are only used where no other cash option avalible my personal choice , and very ltd options for it to happen just anywhere as you state mate , as you dont know my situation
