What Are You Consuming Today?

I honestly loved it yesterday... have cake ready!!
Bowl of shreddies is back in style for me in the morning :)
Good luck with your appt.
Cheers mate ,I had the sense to take an early appointment this time because at the end of a busy day is not ideal for me and I just need to stay relaxed now and it'll be grand (y)

I am partial to shreddies however I can't tolerate much fibre at the moment ongoing gastro down there problems since October last year I'm finally seeing a consultant next week!!

But in the past any of those so shreddies weetabix bran flakes etc I strangely enjoyed lol xx

Good luck with your appt.
Appointment went swimmingly and I actually enjoyed it and was relaxed throughout but because I increased my consumption early doors today its took a while to wear off;)
I requested my limit be raised by 10g per month for flower(when needed) and my oil and vape cart allowance be stopped as it's flower I use now and is my intention moving forward to which he agreed and it was an all round good experience and also found out they have a new app coming up in the next months.

@GrownHealth Thankfully, I’ve always gone with flower too. I initially started on 30g after being honest about my previous consumption, thinking I'd trust the process. But it soon became very clear that 30g just wasn't enough! After another appointment it was bumped to 60g, then up again to 80g—and most recently I’ve had it increased to 90g, which is just about adequate... unless Montu decide to delay again, which they sadly have the last few times. I’ve ended up running out more than once because of that.

I think you were wise to stop the oils and carts. They’re great for some—especially people just getting started—but seasoned consumers like us are often more used to that instant hit you get from vaping flower. I can’t really advocate the other methods, but what someone does in their own home is their business. That said, edibles hit differently and I reckon that’s what pushes a lot of people to get the pricey prescription edibles, since DIY versions are off the table for most.

I’m really glad your appointment went well. I totally get what you mean—it can feel a bit shady at first, like you're sidling up to someone asking, "Got any drugs?" But honestly, it’s just about shifting that mindset. What we’re doing is legal. We’re not criminals lurking in the shadows—we’re patients, finally covered by legislation and doing things the right way.

It did used to feel like sidling up initially on MC but with my new clinic it was nothing like that thankfully and was just a common sense conversation on the matter and cost is a big issue here with two patients in one house so I may never get the extra 10g but its reassuring to know it's available as and when needed but I'm also enjoying these new budget strains but using a bit more so there's that to add in too and this way I have the choice .

@GrownHealth
I’ve tried a couple of the higher-strength, more expensive brands before—probably about 30g total—but I've always made a conscious effort to stick to the £6/g limit where possible. I even went for Tilray at one point purely because it was the cheapest Montu had at the time.

This month, my entire 90g was made up of strains in the £5/g range, and honestly, that feels safest for me. I think if I had more of the higher-strength stuff, I’d actually be more tempted to go old school in how I consumed it—not necessarily a good thing! The way I use it now is more like a slow and steady top-up throughout the day—nothing heavy, just consistent and manageable.

For me, budget strains give me that peace of mind. The more people shout about pricing, the more chance we have of seeing those costs come down across the board. And if that happens? Maybe I’ll treat myself to what I’d consider the “better” strains—but realistically, if the top ones drop, the budget ones probably will too, which just makes stretching my UC and PIP even easier.

I fund all of this through my LWCRA element and the low-rate PIP I’m currently on (hoping that changes after my tribunal). But I feel justified. This is for my disability. It’s part of my health care. So no more shying away, no more feeling dodgy—just access to something that genuinely helps, even if it’s a bit pricey.

Very similar scenario regards money as my wife is on full pip and I'm on carers allowance and jointly on UC but although I do like a more expensive one now and again it needs to be a solid one and I tend to go lower than £6/g on average and its working but she has a few that really work for her pain and mental health associated with it and we tend to get less grams but more expensive with her script but only about 50% needs to be like this but it makes a marked difference and when the pain subsides she'll go back to budget priced stuff in the interim .

@GrownHealth With the 30g I had, I ended up making a little cocktail—just mixing a bit of the higher-strength with the lower-budget strains to stretch it out. It worked okay, but I couldn’t justify more than 20g of the higher-end stuff because once you're looking at £17 instead of £10, it really adds up fast.

The problem is, those 20g never last very long, and if I went that route regularly, there’s no way I’d be able to afford a full 90g prescription—meaning I'd run out before the end of the month. And with no effective pain help from the NHS, I really hate being put in that position.

My fiancé is on carers allowance too, so funds are tight here as well, but he understands how badly I need pain relief. He’s totally supportive of me spending that amount each month, and we just make do with what we have for the rest.

An afternoon on high silver, now back on KK Mints, not used for a month and the boveda has worked well the smell of peppermint when I opened the jar was powerful. A nice minty taste in the vape and now the lovely feeling I get from this bud.

@Moon Ooh now Mints definitely sounds like it would turn the whole green smoothie vibe up a notch! That peppermint punch must’ve been something else—like festive freshness in a jar. It’s definitely something I might try…

I had a feeling the moment you mentioned it sounded nice that this would be the case—but I decided to check before posting anyway… gutted. Yep, outside my budget.
Why is it always the tasty-sounding ones that hit the wallet hardest?

That said, I’m glad the Boveda brought it back to life! I find those little packs work wonders—some strains are so dry they practically disappear in the grinder, but give it a few days with a Boveda and suddenly it’s fluffy, fragrant, and burns beautifully.

One day I might splurge if prices drop… until then, I’ll just live vicariously through posts like yours!

I've used my PAX with budkups all day, mixing it up between Mango Cross, Lavendar Cake and Scout Cake. I'm having one of those annoying days where I cannot get comfortable or relax & am not finding much relief from my cannabis in the max dose of the PAX. Last night I struggled to sleep too, so I am not sure what I will do, sometimes changing my ROA helps when I get little relief from my cannabis.

Just using some Goldberry myself and it has got a kick and one that is useful at £6/g and 27% to boot.

The mango Cross would exasperate the discomfort you describe with me and the scout cake would do it on its own as this is the same as space cake which had the same effect with me and I would rather just the lavender in such a situation if you have no other strains available. This is what would suit me . (y)

I don’t have a PAX, but I get that a lot with my XMAX V3 Pro—some days it’s like nothing hits right no matter how many sessions you try. Total exercise in frustration. Switching up strains or even temps sometimes helps a little, but when you're already running max it’s rough. Hope you manage to find some relief tonight—maybe lean into that Lavender Cake and keep it simple. Sending calming vibes your way!

I had Goldberry last month! Gutted though—if only it tasted like it smelled! The scent was genuinely lovely. Sometimes I literally have to open the bag, have a good whiff, then vape just to trick my brain into tasting what my nose is clearly picking up. Oh to go back to the old school days when flavour was half the magic. Still, can’t complain at £6/g with a kick like that!

100% as the smell lovely on opening the bag but after a few weeks in a jar its improved in effects and will be on my list again .

The jury is at a verdict on the mango cross, I suspect you're correct in identifying it as making my discomfort worse. I always gravitate away and toward certain cultivars when I get a mixed pack, and Lavender Cake is at the top right now. It's also the best bud in the pack. The scout cake is okay and nice at night, but the bud is fried with x-rays and dry as ships biscuits, the boveda pack is helping. I feel way better now that i've definitely not smonked a j 😁 it's really hard to break the habit of a decade of smoking for vaping and micro dosing. Past day has sucked a bit but this week has been one of the most relaxing of the past 7 years!

Got a J between my fingers as I type and you have to do what works in certain situations and many patients do the same and my wife has not took to vapes yet at all and it took me a year so you wont find people judging here dude on smoking a J its what many have done for years and still do 🤷‍♂️

@Lozbunnz I feel you! I had 50g of Mango Cross last month because I genuinely couldn’t get anything else in my price range. Ended up going through IPS Pharma—which already takes longer—and out of the 80g written up for me, 30g had to be rewritten. After two weeks of chasing, that 30g got sent to Montu instead. That’s when I gave Goldberry and Tropicana a try!

Now, regarding Js... I will neither confirm nor deny anything that may or may not happen when the green smoothie flavour gets a bit too green, if you know what I mean. Vape just doesn’t always hit the same. That said, I’m trying to behave because I need oral reconstruction surgery, and that means saying goodbye to tobacco. So, doing it properly is non-negotiable.

Been recommended a DynaVap for a closer-to-combustion feel, but I was never one for blunts—so I worry it’ll still taste like green slop in a tube.

@GrownHealth appreciate the solidarity! I’ll just give a discreet little wink in your direction and say... message received.
