What happens after I seen a doctor and got a prescription?

Hi everyone, I’ve just been accepted as a patient at Alternaleaf about 12:30ish today and I’m sure that they told me everything that I expect but I’m on the autistic spectrum and I have trouble processing verbal communication and so I think I missed some things. So I discussed with the doctor 2 orders that I would like to make but I’m not sure if she’s actually placed those orders or if I have to wait to be contacted by the pharmacy or what? So far I haven’t been contacted by any pharmacy and it’s now just after 19:00.

Welcome to the forum and Medical Cannabis @Aspieman47 and usually after a consultation for a new patient it can take a day for a multi disciplinary team MDT to give final approvement as happened with myself and then your prescription is processed by the dispensary and you receive an invoice and I suspect this is the case here .
Also bear in mind some pharmacies still invoice you past 6PM but hopefully somebody with your clinic may add to this about procedures at your clinic (y)

If it's alternaleaf you picked a good clinic, I would expect the pharmacy will send you an email to purchase your medication somewhere around Friday... usually 3-7 days from appointment

I still haven’t heard from the pharmacy and I thought it would have been yesterday at the latest and unfortunately both the clinic and the pharmacy are closed for the weekend so I can’t find out what is the holdup.

However, I noticed on this website that both of the products that I requested are out of stock and Awaiting ETA. Are these listing usually accurate and up to date? Would this be the reason for the holdup? If so, I would would choose something else if given the chance rather than have to wait for it.

The website page(MedBud Montu Formulary) you show is more to be used as a guide and Montu should provide you with an up to date formulary with an actual in stock products .
Often a product can show out of stock here (MedBud) but the pharmacy may still hold stock of it and hopefully this is the case here. (y)

The website page(MedBud Montu Formulary) you show is more to be used as a guide and Montu should provide you with an up to date formulary with an actual in stock products .
Often a product can show out of stock here (MedBud) but the pharmacy may still hold stock of it and hopefully this is the case here. (y)

Thanks - I asked for both the daytime and nighttime vape cartridges so I presume it was the Pineapple Express and the Blueberry Cush being that those are the only two that is their own brand.
 
I'm starting to get the picture now .
You are with Alternaleaf Clinic and by default they use Montu, but also use IPS Pharmacy and CB1 Medical pharmacies to.
The products you require do not have to be your clinics or pharmacy's brand and the choice is larger than just Upstate cartridges as you could any on this page and just having a look through these could be dispensed by one of the pharmacies your clinic uses so 🤞all is in hand but I would contact them by which ever way you feel comfiest on Monday if just for peace of mind and clarity.(y)

By next time you put a prescription in hopefully you'll better understand your choices as one vape pen may give a different experience to another strain/type of cart and some may be more/less to your liking and hopefully the range of available vape carts expands soon so we have a better choice .

A bit more info on how your clinic operates and this suggest you will have portal to pick your medications from that is more up to date and this is what other members here who are at your clinic do .(y)

Welcome 👋 hope you get sorted out soon, hopefully tomorrow 👍. It can take a couple of days sometimes for your prescription to reach the pharmacy stage, if your products are not available, the pharmacy would usually have to contact your doctor for something similar to be prescribed, this can add another day or so waiting around. Congratulations on becoming an MC patient 👍

Hello mate, I'm also with Alternaleaf, a good clinic. The doctor will have done your order and checked the availability. As its your first time the doctor has to take your prescription to a meeting with some others to agree (MDT) when that's done the prescription goes to the montu pharmacy and uploaded for you to purchase. As its Sunday I expect you will be ready to purchase towards the end of next week. If you go to the montu pharmacy you can register to make a pharmacy account where you can see availability and orders

@Aspieman47 joined last Monday so hopefully it's a bit further along now (y) also there was a bit of scope in the request as it was for a daytime and a night time cart so not brand specific so lets hope its with him sooner rather than later 🤞
The sooner an account is made the better but with my last clinic Mamedica® I wasn't invited to the repeats portal till after my follow up consultation after a month ,I'm not sure if this is the same with your clinic but worth bearing in mind if you cant yet make an account .
 
Update - I was just about to call the clinic before I noticed that they had just sent me my approval email this morning and they said that it could be a further 7 days before the pharmacy contact me! Maybe I misunderstood something but I was under the impression that I had already been approved 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully it will be within 7days, it just a guide line. They will approve you verbally and confirm it in writing too, it gets easier and quicker from now on for you 👍

Seems to have took a long time but hopefully they're in full steam ahead mode now ,but a week to confirm approval is a long time in my opinion but at least you've moved on to the next stage now so lets hope it accelerates for you now (y)
