Hey guys as a newbie to grinders and MC, can anyone post a picture of what grade flower should look like after going through a grinder? I’ve always been used to rolling and my fingers did the job. But now I’m using a vaporiser, I’m not sure how fine it should be.

For vaping I use a med/fine grind, so like 4 twists on the grinder . I find to fine a grind hurts air flow a bit .

use a multipart one with holes on it. you can't overgrind as they keep falling through the holes into the collector component. just remove any pollen filter, multipart grinders usually have those too. i like my vape material a bit chunky, not completely dust-like, tastes better for me.

I use a Flower Mill, same as @GreenRed said, it falls through the holes with this so you get it totally consistent every time. I also have the kief screen taken out so as to keep all the goodness in the meds mix

I use the #2 'Fine' plate

I have the #3 'Medium' too but I find #2 better in terms of airflow etc, I think the bigger holesizes are better for smoking it

I’ve done about 8 grinds and it’s just lumps.
As long as its small ones your fine, if you think it still looks a bit chunky grind it up some more. Don't panic if you grind to small its all trial and error at the start, you will find what works best for your vape.

I find it helps when you first have the bud brake it into smaller bits then add to the grinder it makes it grind better and not clump up to much.
Here are the 3 I use . As you can see they all have different types of teeth which will affect the grind type you get . Its just about finding what works best for you :)

I don't grind for the most part. Never have in the past. Unlike most people I prefer my flower dry or pretty dry, so it crumbles easily. I pack my flower in mason jars with silica gel packs for the most part. I find wet/damp flower aggravates my lungs the most and bone dry the least. Been doing it that way for 20 or so years without issue.

So for me, grind if you want, don't grind, it's your choice. I have a cheapo grinder in the house from years back, steel pins, and the plant drops through holes into the bottom. haven't used it in a long time. But that is the type you want, but if you have overly moist flower, it will gum up pretty quickly and everything congeals and doesn't grind properly..
