Clinic
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 CB1 Medical
Hi, ive been a BM user for the past 10 years and finally decided to take the legal route. I did a decent amount of research into each clinic but ended up going with Curaleaf as im on a tight budget and a mate recommended it at the time. Onboarding was very quick when linking a NHS account to get health records as my GP was taking ages to respond to SAR. Had my initial consultation 2 days after signing up and oh boy was this an experience.

Consultant felt like a complete robot who didn't want to be there, showed up 15 mins late then started rushing me. He hardly acknowledge anything i said, i mentioned i was anxious about the call, told him how my conditions started and what my diagnosis/treatments have been. But he didn't even respond to it, like a simple yeah i can understand your case etc etc would of been nice, maybe im being over dramatic but he kinda just ignored what i said and went on the next thing to tick off on his check list like he was just reading script. To further add to it, when we started talking about treatments i told HIM that i really didn't want any gamma irradiated flower and was also worried that i would be prescribe the balance 7%THC / 7%CBD that i heard they was pushing onto new patients as my tolerance is at 60gs a month. This was literally the only thing he responded to and said "well we wouldn't give you anything high THC like 30% otherwise we would consider it abuse and discharge you, my response was im not asking for high strains i just don't want the balanced strain. Anyway we end the call, next day comes around and i have been approved, i can see my first script. 20gs of tripoli and guess what.... 20gs of 7%THC 7%CBD gamma irradiated lunar circus with no other options. I knew they were a doctor led clinic but this has to be a joke lol, feels like i was completely ignored and have wasted my time and money. Now forcing me to get the rest off the BM.

Feel free to call me out if i'm being dramatic but i'm now looking to transfer to a clinic that will listen to me and also give me access to more than 2 strains that actually work for me. I have been eying up CB1 Medical and Mamedica® but would like some recommendations/advice please.

Welcome @foxziz and your certainly not being dramatic it sounds like your doing the sensible thing to get the service you need and as recommended by @R3d4 both those clinics would let you order freely within there formularys and I would be looking to do the very same if I was you .

Thanks for the reassurance :) i'm leaning towards CB1 Medical as it looks cheaper to transfer but will do some more research

No problem(y)

My wife is a patient at CB1 Medical and it would be free to transfer but you would pay £6/ month postage for your delivery so just making you aware as you weigh up the cost .

Ah thats good to know thanks, do you have to pay for follow up appointments or is that covered in a yearly fee?

I'm also with Curaleaf. If you can bear to hang on there until your one-month follow-up, you should be able to change/widen your choice of medicine at that point. Many people are receiving 60g and more per month, but any responsible prescriber is going to be cautious at first. You don't (ever) have to buy any of what you've been prescribed if you don't want. My advice is to be clear about what you need at your next appointment, including the increased allowance and higher THC. Be knowledgeable and polite rather than confrontational. In my case I didn't get all the guard-rails lifted at once, but am confident I can next time.

I should say that Curaleaf refused me outright after my first appointment, which proceeded as you describe, just box-ticking. I "appealed" their refusal, so they gave me a second no-cost appointment. This time the psych (a different one) was really supportive of my right to the medicine, and I was enrolled.

I have been with Curaleaf/ Sapphire for almost 16-17 months and I had enough with their products and treatments when I told them going to transfer they got really difficult times very unpleasant anyhow I transferred to Alternaleaf end of April never looked back, awesome service and understanding I am still new with them but so far so good 😊 specially the opportunity to have the choice to select the MC After the first two consultations this is my third prescription and I was informed I can select what I would like from Montu or IPS as I am in the Grow Access Project scheme discount program for those who are eligible, 🙏🏽 welcome to our family 🙏🏽

We are not going to call you out friend, this is appalling and not how it should be. Jump clinic for sure

Glad to hear you won the appeal! 🙌 I think i just got a bad egg on a off day, I'm sure curaleaf have some lovely people working there who do care. Like you say i imagine it would of got sorted at my follow up appointment.

I ended up taking the advice to transfer to CB1 Medical and it was magic! Day after i applied i got a phone call saying there was a cancellation and if i wanted to take the appointment for tomorrow morning. I hadn't even uploaded my records yet but they said they had already contacted my GP and got everything needed to go forward. Next day, they showed up on time, listened to what i had to say and agreed it was fair enough to transfer. Felt a lot more personalised and thoughtful, asking about my work and how MC has been helping me compared to other treatments, then went on to ask what terpenes i enjoy and let me choose a couple strains for my first script. picked out the 4labs pup-smalls (ironic name as they are massive nugs :ROFLMAO:) , Therismos sour og cheese (out of stock now, but they mentioned would put it aside for me as soon as the script was written) and also added an Aurora® vape cart on top as i mentioned i liked how discreet they are. Script was payable a few hours later and arrived the following morning.

Thanks to everyone who gave their advice it was much appreciated!! ❤️ Couldn't be happier with my choice so far! 😇
