An old Mighty a pal bought new, sold to me and bought back, only to be sold to me again and it's had some use, the interweb suggested it used 3300mah when in fact they're 2700mah ones, the replacements have a slightly higher capacity, there's also some heat damage on the case as the case has broken where the screw heads are.

I've seen 3500mah used as replacements but currently can't find any heatshrink big enough, so this evening I'll practice soldering on one of the old batteries, I've drawn polarity on for my future reference :D

Discussion & advice most welcome :)

I admire your determination and I hope you can rescue the mighty. @OldBloke will be along in due course with some tech support. Im sorry I can’t help but how is the Aris ultra?

I did a lol at your image :ROFLMAO: 1778786994029.pngbut the Aris Ultra is good, it came with 6 capsules and will chong 5 of them from a single charge :) I'm not so sure about the bubbler it came with though but am pleased with it, small enough to take out and works properly!

Good stuff, hope it hits the spot and keeps you away from combustion.👍🏽

It served me well today as it did a 40 mile round trip in my rucksack and felt discreet & effective when I used it, the Mighty will hopefully be for taking to a mates as it's better for bigger sessions and the Da Buddha (15 years old & and just got out on Christmas eve) reaches where the other two don't.

I've found the bubbler thing for the Aris drips water if filled over a cm deep, that moistens the bud which burns/vapes badly, I've had it on the Da Buddha whip and had issues.

Waiting on the Amazon man to fetch me some heatproof tape, should have ordered it yesterday but thought Screwfix et al would have some, but no, not a chance but my boy was doing a today order and got me a roll, and some gauzes to be delivered before 10pm.

And although it's years since I've bought a bong it appears my town has a severe bong shop shortage these days 😂

I can’t do electrics so I’m watching this in fascination & fingers crossed that you win. 🏆 Hope the vaping is going well?

The vaping's going too well :D as I'm no further on, tho the tape arrived, I think I should take the heater to bits while it's open to clean it as well, it'll be as good as new if it works :D

How are you getting on? Been ill so didnt see this thread.
Aye I saw :( a mates daughter has lost the last 3 years school dealing with the effects of long covid sadly from chronic fatigue, I don't know how to respond to folk dealing with illness but that comes from what feels like the best part of my lifetime of folk asking me how my 'sugar' is, and that's never a simple answer so I always say 'sweet' which tends to kill the conversation :)

I couldn't start till I'd paid for it which I've now done so I've stripped & cleaned the oven and am going to see how the old nickel battery strips tin with leaded solder, I've heat sink tweezers to go to the terminal side and will practice on the old cells first as I've 'de-wired' them, and there's the case to fix as the plastic's melted where the screwheads sit so they don't hold the 2 halves together, hopefully superglue is the answer otherwise it's glue in plugs and longer screws.

Edit, tinned terminals. 1778965986354.png1778970356418.png

The important step in this procedure is to transplant the old thermistor (4 small black leads) to the new cells.
Many of the error codes on mighty/crafty are down to these thermistors failing.
If anyone has a value in ohms for this thermistor then i will find a UK supplier.
