Still Deciding
I'm being prescribed flower for chronic widespread pain (arthritis), fatigue, depression, anxiety and low sex drive. I need to choose a Sativa for daytime use that is energising and mood lifting – and not at all sedating. And an Indica for nighttime that is relaxing and sedating. Preferably non-irradiated and organic. Not sure which terpenes are best for my symptoms either. The following Sativa stains have been suggested: Queen Sangria, Miss Kim, Moroccan Peaches. And these Indicas: Atlantic Glue, Pink Kush, Strawberry OG. I also need to buy a herb vaporiser and have been recommended the Mighty+ (a bit pricey for me), Utillian and PAX. Any thoughts, advice or recommendations on all of the above would be greatly appreciated thank you! :)

Welcome to the forum @Bubbles and you'll find many here with similar symptoms as yourself.
The the Sativa Hybrid I'm currently using is Mango Cross T22 and this is not sedating at all in fact quite the opposite and has got me doing the housework today and I also find the Miss Kim very similar in effect but have not tried the others but I'm sure other members here will chip in with their thoughts.
As for Indica's the Pink Kush is a well liked by a lot of patients here and as regards vaporisors I have the mighty which was around £200 as it is not the mighty + and a lot of patients find this device suits them very well and we do have a thread with a lot of reviews of portable vaporisors and it is definitely worth taking time to watch as many as you can because like you say they are a bit pricey .

Hello and welcome @Bubbles

I find that the best strains for inflammation / arthritis are the ones with a major terp of Caryophyllene in. This not why i am prescribed, but I noticed the arthritic pains in my hands have vanished in the last few weeks, and a bit of research made me realise it’s the Caryophyllene

I can't recommend a Sativa or Hybrid for the day, others will hopefully as I run a mile from them!

However regarding Indica for evening and sleep i can recommend these that are Caryophyllene heavy:

Four20 GMO : Indica Hybrid 90/10 - Caryophyllene 50% Myrcene25% Limonene25%

Aurora® 28/1 CMK-CA Chemango Kush - Indica - Caryophyllene 30%

Therimos SOG T25 Strawberry OG - Indica Hybrid - Caryophyllene, Beta-Pinene, Myrcene, Limonene, Nerolidol

What are the most anti-inflammatory terpenes?

When inflammation occurs, the body releases specialized compounds that trigger swelling, redness, and pain. Terpenes intercept these inflammatory signals to prevent inflammation from spreading and intensifying. They work with our endocannabinoid system (ECS) to activate specific receptors, regulate immune responses, and reduce inflammatory markers.

Terpenes work through multiple pathways simultaneously. Some terpenes block pro-inflammatory compounds, but others boost our body's natural anti-inflammatory responses. This dual action comprehensively fights inflammation.

Here are the top five cannabis terpenes that fight inflammation:

  1. Caryophyllene
  2. Myrcene
  3. Pinene
  4. Limonene
  5. Humulene

If you do decide on the Mighty, I have the Mighty plus as my portable vapuoriser and think it's really good.

I've bought all my actual vapourisers from here purely as I tend to find it the cheapest:

This thread covered strains for sleep, those I find tend to be the best painkillers and most relaxing too:

This thread covered strains for daytime / working / mood boosting without sedation

Hope it helps, and welcome :)

if youd like to dip toes in before paying loads try an arizer solo 2
easy to clean
all glass stems

you can find em around for little over a tonner nowadays

I'd eliminate PAX from your list. It's too small to be useful. I think it's aimed at people trying to be super, super discrete, but at the expense of vapour quality and battery life. As a legal MC patient, I'd say you don't need that level of discretion, and the downsides therefore make it not worth it.

I use the Mighty+, and I recommend either that, or you can get the original Mighty a bit cheaper with not much difference (slightly faster heatup time in the Mighty+, and a faster usb charger). Also there's the official Vapormed Mighty Medic, which is the version of the Mighty that's clinically approved, so in terms of scientific backing of safety and effectiveness you're not going to do better than that. It can also be a bit cheaper than the normal Mighty depending on where you look. I think perhaps different VAT rules apply since it's a medical device and not just a "herbal vapouriser" like the normal Mighty/Mighty+?

Hello and thanks for all this info! Actually I don't have inflammatory arthritis, just osteo – with a lot of pain and stiffness in my joints, and therefore tight/painful muscles too. With this in mind, are there better terpenes for this sort of non-inflammatory pain?

Hey folks, I've now done a heap of research and compared lots of different strains that were suggested on here and by my pain specialist. My shortlists are below. I'd be so grateful for some help narrowing them down to one or two from each list if anyone has time to help me out!?

So I want a Sativa for daytime use – to feel energised, focused, happy, creative, uplifted, and in less pain. And an Indica for nighttime use – for relaxation, pain relief, and deep restorative sleep.

I've had a tendency to feel a bit anxious/paranoid when smoking weed in the past, so need to be conscious of that too. And I'd prefer non-irradiated if possible, as I'm told these taste better and have more beneficial terpenes for pain management.

Sativas:
Queen Sangria
Tangerine Boost
Moroccan Peaches
Miss Kim
Mango Cross

Indicas:
Pink Kush
Strawberry OG
Atlantic Glue (is this an Indica or Sativa Hybrid? – conflicting info)
Chemango Kush
GMO Cookies
Pavé S1
Original Blitz

Sorry I haven't got the hang of this site yet, so don't know how to put links up. Very frustrating having no filter options either!

Thanks in advance to any lovely kind people who can be bothered to read and reply to this. :)

Hi, I get the anxious paranoia feeling and tension from Sativa strains. You will need to experiment, as what works for one does not for another.

The Pave S1 is interesting as its not really an Indica its 50/50 Indica Sativa, yet some people here swear by it for sleep, I have some and for me its defo a high energy old fashioned stoning daytime hit.

Depending on your clinic pharmacy and present stock will dictate what is available. Your Indica list is good, but i think Atlantic Glue is a Sativa Hybrid< i would remove it from the list and the Pave s1, and perhaps add Kush Cake and chapel of love instead.

Thanks a lot for your advice. I'm confused about Atlantic Glue as my doc said it's a stronger version of Pink Kush which is an Indica!? Cheers for the other suggestions too, will check them out.

If you go to MedBud.wiki not here the forum, and put Atlantic glue into search you will see it has absolutely nothing to do with pink kush.

Have to agree Atlantic Glue it is the same as Gorilla Glue#4 which is a Sativa Hybrid and not the same or similar to Pink Kush.
