Still Deciding
Hi everyone, I've been looking into medicinal cannabis on and off the last couple of years for anxiety.

I've used flower in the past more recreationally and looking back I suppose a bit to self medicate and sometimes took it at night to help sleep.

I've got a consultation booked with Dispensed on Monday. I appreciate they are new to the UK. I'm just worried I won't get accepted and also that they might suggest oil instead of flower. I'd really like flower as I think I would need the quicker delivery to relieve symptoms more quickly.

Just wondering if there are any tips on thing to say or not etc or what to expect during the consultation. I've done some research online and here but just keen to hear peoples experiences who have actually already gone through the process.

Also if there are any good questions to ask etc.

Thanks all. Will give feedback on what Dispensed are like.

Welcome @C_Mac and making the move to medicinal cannabis as a treatment for anxiety is a logical move and part the reason why I use medical cannabis.

Your past use off flower should carry weight on your consultation and always be mindful you are paying for it so you want your input listened to also once you have a consultation booked it usually means you have been screened and qualify for medical cannabis as this way they don't waste consultants appointments (y)

Be open about previous use and how it help you in flower format and that you would like to explore the available range and consultations are pretty relaxed in general but I understand that we all overthink it going into them .

Another point is once onboard if they don't live up to your expectations it would be easy enough to transfer to somewhere more receptive to your needs .

Apparently from a couple of initial reports they are very restrictive on the items they want to prescribe - bear in mind that a lot of patients have access either to much wider formularies, or even access to any and all CBPMs

Dictating what strains people have is to the benefit of the people making money on the items, not the patient

All the best with it, looking forward to hearing your experience

Be brutally honest with them. If they don't accept you or suit - easy to help you look at other clinics (y)
What would stop many here now were reports that you cannot choose your own medication - Be sure to ask them: can I choose my own meds?
Welcome + Good Luck mate (y)

Welcome @C_Mac 👋

Thanks everyone for the great welcome and great advice. Really interesting to see those strains. Although I used to smoke flower, I never knew what type it was so still a newbie really but this website and forum has taught me so much already so feel like I'm going into the consultation a bit more armed.

Thank you.

The doctor didn't show up for the consultation unfortunately so phoned their office and left a message as advised.
That's awful but it is something you can see across clinics from time to time.

That said, I would take this as the universe giving you a sign. Take the opportunity to look at the likes of Alternaleaf or CB1 Medical for value, Cannabis Clinic Cardiff for ease of access to all pharmacies or Integro for speed of service.

Its free if your transferring from another clinic to CB1 Medical 👍
The patient - isn't one at Dispensed yet - but they can be very flexible on that £50 fee hopefully (y)

@C_Mac tell them you are "transferring from dispensed, even tho I get £19 back on my first order" - they might give you that credit off your meds there. Worth asking mate, they've been very good to us on here. Mention MedBud wki forum if you feel like (but I doubt we have any sway). (y)
