Hi all, my name is Bryan and I am very pleased to be here the wealth of information I've got already on here is just brilliant 👏 So glad I came across this as I have my first video consultation tomorrow at noon and was looking for any advice that may be valuable towards me getting on the register.
Feel free to ask any questions regarding this appointment and myself that may help me on my journey 😊
Many thanks B

Hi Bryan + welcome mate :)

Which clinic you with? Did you decide on flower or oil or?

Welcome to the community @Bryan and to do with your consultation I would say be frank and honest with them and if you have used cannabis before tell them and personally I didn't ask for enough on my first consultation but in hindsight I should of asked for more but was locked in the stigma of what will they think etc. and it really isn't this way as they want to treat your conditions best they can .

Welcome Bryan! - Glad to have you join MedBud!

The first thing to remember is that this is just a doctors appointment, so don't over think it, these people are here to help and want to provide a solution to your needs (mainly because of the £££ but I digress).

In your first appt, its a quick review of what you're looking to treat and some questions about medical history, this should be a simple video call. Then, clinic dependent you'll get offered a doctors appt, this is where you talk about specifics of the strains, what you need, quantities, etc. I always find its best to be generous with you Cannabis needs, especially if you're an experienced user. - I have a 90g limit, I do not use 90g but I like to have back ups if I run low, etc. You'll want to do some research in to strains before this appt and I'd highly recommend you coming back here to ask for recs.

After your doctors appt, your script will be sent to MDT, they'll reference it against your needs to make sure its the best medicine and from here it gets approved and off to the pharmacy for payment/delivery. This shouldn't take to long, I think most clinics aim to get it all sorted in around 3 weeks or less (some are very quick!).

If at any point here you're declined (from experience I know the feeling!) just know that clinics have differing criteria of entry and just because one clinic rejects you it doesn't mean your journey ends, you can apply elsewhere no bother. I'm sure you won't be but its good to know you have options.

If you're here I assume you meet the standard entry requirements in terms of previous treatments, etc. so the only real advice is echoing the fountain of knowledge that is @GrownHealth.

Hi mate, the clinic is Curaleaf not decided yet on flower been looking at a satvia Hybrid really unsure atm any advice is greatly appreciated 😊
Evening mate and now you mention Curaleaf is the clinic I'd be pretty sure they will try and prescribe you curaleaf products to start with but if you go in armed with a bit of knowledge it'll help and a couple of Curaleaf products that spring to mind are High Silver and Royal Moby and are both Sativa Hybrids with the Royal Moby being more Sativa effects whilst the High Silver is a pleasant feel but mildly relaxing at the same time .
Also the Wedding Pop Triangle is a decent strain IMO that may be offered and is slightly more relaxing than the other two .

Wedding Pop Triangle is a pretty Sativa leaning Hybrid as well!

Aside from their flower being a little dry, they do have a nice selection of budget Sativas.

If you go into the consultation with not much idea or preference, you'll almost certainly be started off on High Silver if it's a day-time Sativa, or Lavender Cake if it's a night-time Indica you ask for, or one of each if you need both.

I actually added it in to the original post as it crossed my mind after posting. :giggle:
I agree on the Sativa Hybrid range just a shame sometimes when they turn up extra dry.

Hi mate and welcome.. I'm relatively new and also have found the people and information here second to non ! You will get far better advice other than me but I'm 3 days away from my 2nd appointment and since doing what you've done which is to put yourself out there to gain information, well, I can't tell you in a month what I've learned from this amazing CannaCommunity !!! No question is a silly question..!
Be honest with your clinician, know what you want and stand your ground as you're likely to be started off milder than stronger..
Very best of luck x

Haha Yes it was the Sativa Hybrid selection we in here are familiar with most on the Curaleaf formulary but truth be told you've just gone through the very same onboarding that @Bryan is about to go through so your experience is of great value here.

Wouldn't it be great that when this whole medical malarky is fully established that new patients could start on a 3 month reduced rate introductory offer to see if this journey was the most suitable for them..?

Just a thought..

Anything to make it more accessible I say but the costs in general need to fall still in my opinion for many to be able to afford the real benefits MC offers.:(
