Intros 1 year in and still a newbie

Welcome and you have my sympathies on this issue and where we can get hold of terpene profiles they are published but the producers are not obliged to produce these profiles and the reason given in the past is cost of this analysis but as batch's are now significantly bigger I see no excuse for these not being provided and some suppliers are great with this like Muzo Health and Grow also along with a few others.

Thankfully as the industry grows we are seeing more information but for those who use terpenes as a starting point as many do it is very frustrating when there is no info on this subject.
Surly if producers want us to buy their medicine it's in their interest to "sell " it to us. The whole cannabis community talks about terpenes and it's importance. It seems to me terpenes are the most important part of the plant that a medical patient needs to know and yet it's ignored. Surly they know general terpene content? The producers are missing a trick here then. People want to know exactly what they're buying or they may as well go to dave round the corner. Thanks for the reply.

You tell 'em! We have been for years. terpenes may be present when the grower hands it over but ...imho it's due to the age/poor storage of the product ( transit can take months) and poor gamma/beta irradiation machine operator training.

I only signed up last month so this is all new to me. Hopefully things will improve with time. It just seems a bit silly to leave out the main selling points of the plant from a producers point of view and it seems a bit strange to say medical cannabis and then do the patient a diservice by not including how that medicine works. If you go to a normal pharmacy to collect any medicine it has specific and detailed information for that medicine. Is this medicine or is this a money maker. It seems odd to leave out the medicinal properties of each individual medicine that allows the patient to taylor medicine for a particular condition. I was under the impression medicinal cannabis was legalised to help people with medical conditions not to make a fast buck. Maybe im nieve and maybe this has all been said before so sorry if it's old news. It's just something I've noticed in the short time I've been hear. Has it got better from your point of view, as a patient of a few years?

Indeed! It's old news but you are not naive! You put your finger on central problems.

UK clinics/pharms are private profit making companies. That's how the enabling law and MC system was devised in 2018. The products them selves have improved hugely in that time. The system has not.

MedBud aims to improve the data available to patients, amongst other things. It relies on the importers supplying that data from the growers.

Finally the product you use for pain may work for me but not for you. Cannabis is like that, it cannot imho be precise in the same way that Big Pharma drugs are- ie, take 2 mg of this product and your pain will be gone for 4 hours ( even those drugs dont always work for everyone) nit's a plant with great variability.

53 years with the herb has taught me what I need, how much, when and how. Problem is finding that product/cultivar, we are all in the same boat 8)

Thanks old bloke! I just wasn't sure if I'd missed something. It's seems like I'm on the money. MedBud has indeed been really helpful, such a shame the system seems not to be as patient focused as I thought it might be. Another thing that seems strange is the pricing. How can a producer justify some strains are £40 and others £80 without specifying why with lab reports. Without evidence it seems pretty random. I've been medicating for 35years and have children so this is still the best option for me. For what it's worth in a couple of weeks I'm having a follow up consultation with my clinic to discuss this matter. It will be interesting to see what they have to say and I'll post here if anyone's interested.
