What happened to the MCPA Discord?

I haven't been involved with the MCPA myself for a long-while, but just asked one of their old directors.
Any updates mate?
Nope, no reply as of yet unfortunately - I'll give them another nudge.
So it seems the server was actually intentionally deleted by an admin, the reasons for it are unknown - but it's assumed it won't be coming back.
As someone whom helped build out a lot of the original channel structure, it's sad to see. I have fond memories of hosting the first few industry meetings they held.

This is such a shame as it was a really useful resource. Members were friendly, helpful with deep up to date knowledge.

I was banned from that server for discussing politics in the #politics channel after dedicating months worth of my time to posting numerous helpful flower reviews in there and helping onboard new users to the medicinal cannabis community. They went to great lengths to track all of my accounts and disallow me from ever entering a Zoom meeting. It's a relief to be rid of the blatant power abuse, the overly emotional "moderators" who prioritised biased opinions over justice and truth, and the radical echo chamber it had become.

Welcome @Bray , thankfully I only know here in the medical community and have found it welcoming and not hostile in anyway, you sound like the sort of person that will fit in perfectly with reviews and helping assist potential patients to start their MC journey, it's sort of become a common thing here recently and any help and advice is most welcome.
As for politics we try to keep it in off topic even though thus far it's not been discussed much this is just a coincidence. Current wars we stick away from, but politics is fair game is my understanding,

I saw all this happen while helping admin the server, or at least - I missed the initial ban and saw the fall-out thereafter in the staff chat etc. I actually can't even remember now specifically what the ban was for, but remember we chatted about it thereafter and having to point out the decision was over my head - also remember you being kicked out the MCPA Zoom meeting.
I have a lot of love for several of the ex-MCPA staff, but ultimately walked away a few weeks afterwards because there was quite a bit of disagreement between staff overall. I won't speak to it more publicly, because it's water under the bridge at this point.
"Justice and truth" are two principles MedBud is built on IMO, and as @GrownHealth says, we don't have any issue with political discussion - though limit chatter about wars like Ukraine/Russia or Israel/Gaza, because they're incredibly divisive in general.
We will eventually launch more formal rules here, though hopefully minimal – discussion thread below:
