Intros Introduction and 1 month review.

Thank you for your reply and apologies for my late response. You've gave me some hope here as what you're saying makes perfect sense. I'd say most of these that I received had a staleness to them and since I received them I'm pretty sure 2 of them have gone OOS and one is due to expire in August. I didn't do myself any favours when choosing strains but I know a lot more now and hopefully I'll get it right soon.

My consultant recommended Pave and a few other people have mentioned it so I think I should definitely give it a go. Hopefully the Tyson 2.0 will hit the spot, you've definitely gave me hope there so I'll make sure to come back and let you know what I think of it.

Although it didn't work for me the Sudz did have a Boveda in and was by far the freshest of the lot, I was gutted it didn't work me. It was actually a replacement for a strain that was out of stock (Creamy keys) so came a week later than the others . By then I'd worked out none of the others were any good so I was desperate for it to do the job but no joy.

I'm also going to look into changing clinics. Unfortunately I've had items added to this months invoice that I didn't ask for and they're charging me for taking it off. When I had my consultation last week I explained the situation and said I'll just take 10g of flower this week and then get the rest throughout the month. They've added THC oil to the invoice and now want to charge me £15 to take it off.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

I have never seen this before. @GrownHealth
I was just reading this and Mamedica® will only let you request 1 prescription per month and not weekly or as you need/can pay for it like some clinics and honestly mate I wouldn't pay for anything I didn't request and from reading the above I would just transfer Immediately to somewhere with a bit more flexibility if you can.

It looks like they have added their recommendations so it is not your request and I would make that quite clear and definitely wouldn't be paying for it as they can't charge you for that and I would quite simply make arrangements to transfer to somewhere they want you as patient and don't try to punish you financially at every turn as seems the case .
Something similar recently happened with another member at dispensed .

Mamedica's prescribing policies and deterrents (fees) at full play here .:(

These sign up Fees are a Joke too, how can a Clinic make a contract that you've got to stay with them or get charged 3/4 months after you decide that clinic isn't for you and leave! I was reading this on some websites last night, listening to a couple of patients. This shouldn't be allowed.
Thought that was Curaleaf that made people pay for 3 months

Welcome to the Community @JayG303. You had a couple of good strains on your first script and I'm surprised non of them seemed to work for you. I've actually found that myself with a couple of strains and put it down to probably storage or just a bad batch. Medical cannabis is not as fresh as BM because of how much moisture is allowed in Medical Flower. That doesn't help at all when your use to more terpy taste which is actually part of the healing properties and part of the medicine in the plant. I've actually got use to it now but when I get flower that's a bit too dry and muted it can be off putting, There is MC Flower with plenty of the terpenes your looking for out there, i hope you find the right ones for yourself that work for your condition/s 👍
Hi mate. Apologies I didnt see this. Thank you for the reply, I'm sure it was something to do with storage and age because they looked and smelled so good till vaped/smoked. It was like once upon a time there was a something there but it had left a long time before I bought it haha. I'll get there, just going to take time I think.

This sounds insane. @GrownHealth, have you ever seen this?

I've never even heard of a charge to remove items but I guess they're saying they need to write a new script instead and they're charging you for that.

Do you have to buy it all in? Or can you just pay for your flower and leave the rest off?
I've just got off the phone to them. It looks like what one man told me the other day is different to what the last one said.

I was told I'd need to pay £15 to take the oil off but when I've just spoke to someone he said I can just phone up and pay for the 10g of flower and just not pay for the oil. He said if I decide to change the oil for something else then I will be charged £15. Thats not too bad but the fact is the oil shouldn't be on there in the first place as I didn't ask for it. I should have had an invoice for the 10g of flower and then if I want more I'd order on the website next week. That was what was discussed in our consultation.

That's good then if they agreed to let you order step by step and thankfully a bit of common sense has kicked in 🙏

My monthly amount is 60grams so for the first month with Mamedica® I had to order the full 60 and pay for it all. Once you've had your 1 month consultation you're able to order the 60 in stages. Thats what I believe anyway, in all honesty nobodies really explained it properly to me and trying to get help from Mamedica isn't easy. The consultants are good but the customer service is really cold.

Yes it is, i was just bringing up another issue about clinics, what I was reading mate, i couldn't believe! Because this particular person said they were unhappy with the service and the clinic said he had to carry on paying his monthly fee after leaving them. This isn't right mate either.

Sounds familiar regards customer service but I only know of the ability to split a prescription into two deliveries so you get it fortnightly but they used to charge a tenner for that  anyway lets hope they play ball and just keep your eyes on the service others here get from their respective clinics and you'll soon pick up what is the best way forward for you (y)

Yes mate take your time, I'd look on here and see what people are saying about particular strains, or even ask the Community. Anxiety can be a bit tricky to deal with, mine can go through the roof at times and nothing seems to work. I've found in stead of chasing the flower when my Anxiety gets out of touch, i try to let the flower come to me. It takes a bit of practice but youll get there 👌. Hope you find the right strains that work with you and sure you will 👍

I've learned so much about MC just in the last week or so that I feel more confident in what to get next and what to look out for, I reckon I'll find something good over the next few weeks. I've got Tiger Milk coming which looks promising and I've been looking at Aurora® and Peace Naturals® just now and theres a few they do that look spot on for me so fingers crossed. Ideally I'd like my prescription to have some of the more expensive stronger strains but I'd love to find something around £5 a gram that works. Theres one available now for £4, Black Cookies, looks worth a risk? In your experience have any of these ever been decent or should I stay away from the really cheap strains?

That's good to hear as the more knowledge you gain the easier it should be and I sort of find my way through the cheaper strains quite alright at the minute and it's only improving but also there is some deadwood in there but honestly the choice 12 months ago at £5-£6 was abysmal in comparison and I could only pick one or two out as money savers where as recently some of my first choices have been priced cheaply recently and more and more are piling in , so soon as we get to see a few new ones in the flesh and judge the quality/effects there'll be even more savings for effective meds I reckon .

Hi Jay and welcome to the community.
I like many others share your frustration. It was exactly the same for me when I started and change clinics after 4 weeks due to not being listened to and the waiting valuable money on things that did not work AT ALL !
Things so far with CB1 Medical have been fairly straight forward and felt more listened to. My 2nd prescription was for OG Kush, Gorilla Glue and Wedding Cake all 10g each and I also opted to go for the Aurora® Sourdough Cart. The OG Kush was definitely day time, but a balanced is what I'm hunting for (I tried Lunar Circus which I saw potential in if slightly stronger - really helped with my anxiety and stress) and have found the Green Joy Mango Cheese which I will be requesting this next time round! The GG for me is more early evening and the Wedding Cake was a decent night time strain but not super sedating. Having the Sourdough cart to use when insomnia starts raising its head has really helped a lot - to have it at my bedside without the mess on of having to load a bowl is godsend !
The hardest thing I'm finding is finding strains at my price point which is already extremely frustrating !
Very best of luck on your MC journey

Some of this £4 stuff is brand new to market so there's limited reviews out there.

4C Labs are largely the kings of <£65 range. For example Sudz is £55 and Jokerz is £60. I don't think there's better value flower that those two at the moment.

The "What's on your script this month" thread is really useful for trying to figure out your scripts. I know we all have different reactions to different strains but by and large it's a useful way to make sure you're getting anything poorly grown.

Should also mention the Mega-Thread: Asking for Strain Recommendations
