Hello! I am new to MC as I have ME, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety, Depression and struggle with sleep.
My main issue is the pain and the doc at Alternaleaf prescribed me upstates grape burger (Indica) and berry cream puff (Sativa). I’ve been doing a bit of research and a bit concerned about Sativa with my anxiety. Also do you have to have what is prescribed or can you change your mind after the prescription goes to the pharmacy and change it to a different strain when it comes to paying.
I got a dynavap M7 XL, Convection heater, grinder and cleaning liquid. Do I need anything else?

Welcome to the forum @Eggster and congratulations on becoming a MC patient
I help keep anxiety in check with Medical cannabis and can use SativaHybrids but not if it is too Sativa leaning I find as this is where it can increase any anxiety so I tend to stick to tried and tested SativaHybrids to avoid nasty surprises .
Once a prescription is written it cannot be amended to another product and the prescription has to be written afresh unfortunately often causing a delay but the good news is you will be able to pick your own strains in future so should bypass the need for getting prescriptions rewritten hopefully.
I also have a Dynavap M7XL but to be honest I wouldn't like to have this as my only vape device but see how you get on with it as it may suit you famously but I find I need something that doesn't need filling too often where as with a Dynavap it does with me .

Welcome to the Community @Eggster Welcome to the the world of MC i hope so far your enjoying your journey into MC. I don't have the dynavap M7 XL so I wouldn't know if you need anything else to go with it. Usually its a flame to heat them but that's all I know about them. There will be a few in the community that do use them and sure someone here will be able to help more on that one

Hey @Eggster and a warm welcome to the community. The trick with MC is not to get frustrated at the early stages which is easier said than done when money is involved.. It is definitely a journey but just remember to slow down and take time to read up on strains in the "what's on your script this month" thread and you'll find strains that interest you for sure..
Not knowing the kind of vaper/smoker you are is difficult to offer advice but I tend to agree (even though I don't have one) I think you'll be looking for other devices before too long..
Very best of luck on your MC journey and you're in the right place
hello and welcome, I am not a big fan of Sativa flower and prefer Indica or IndicaHybridHybrids but everyone is different.
I also find that if i vape Sativa flower at low temperatures (170) i can tolerate it and it does give me some medicinal benefits but i still prefer Indica.
I tried a dynavap but prefer the storz and bickel mighty vape as i can control the temperature and prepare dosing capsules in advance of when i might need them.

Welcome to Medical Cannabis and Welcome to MedBud!
I'm sorry to hear about your pain, hopefully the doctors have prescribed 2 treatments that help for you.
On the strains - I've not had either but I would say that strains effect us all differently. The amount of Hybrids we're now flooded with means that the traditional Sativa vs Indica argument is muddy. It's not to say it doesn't hold some truth but maybe less so in the modern day.
I have read that Berry Cream Puff doesn't carry a lot of the typical Sativa traits so you may find it to be rather mellow and not overly racy at all.
Terpenes are the key for identifying the correct strains and although it's not a complete science it's the best method we have to tracking down what does/doesn't work for us. Terpinolene and Limoneneare usually very heavily associated with bringing on the racy/anxiousness but terpenes and temperatures also play a role in all of this, so take it as a rule of thumb to some degree but not as gospel.
Berry Cream Puff does have Limonene as a major terpene but that also interacts with Caryophyllene and Guaiol as it's other major terpenes and they are both anti-anxiety, anti-stress related terpenes so I would not expect a lot of anxiety inducing feelings.
I also have a Dynavap M7XL, I used it as my daily for a long period of time both with a torch and then later with the Wand. It certainly has it's place in the world. I find it to be very economical with product and I don't think there's many portables that can hit like it does with 0.07g of herb. Heating it towards the bottom of the cap can produce perfect 1 hit extraction as well, so it has great benefit if you want to get medicated quickly rather than have a session.
It is a little tricky with portable use but less so with the wand.
Be careful, I have kissed the M7XL before and ended up with a nasty little burn across my lips. I was distracted with conversation and also being very high lol.
I wouldn't say you need anything else but grab a Magnet of some variance to help take the heat out of the M7. I used a Dynastand but there's keyring versions, I even made my own for a while. Its really good at taking the heat out of it so you don't have to wait long for reloads.
There's probably better, safer, easier ways of vaping but you don't NEED anything else.
