Hi everyone, I'm new to Medical Cannabis and also to this forum.
I decided to give it a try as I suffer from pain due to osteoarthritis in my right ankle following an accident 25 years ago, and my left hip - currently on the waiting list for a replacement. The arthritic hip causes problems with a constant groin strain, muscle pain in my thigh and also on the outer part of my knee. I also suffer from spasms in the lower back which can sometimes cause a pulled muscle which leads to a twisted spine, along with sciatica.
Despite sounding like I'm on my last legs, I'm not. I'm active, work on an ad-hoc basis whenever I like, play Walking Football twice a week and work out in my local gym 3 or 4 times a week. I really do have good days and bad days and will probably only need cannabis when things are bad. I need it to kill the pain but also want to stay alert, focused, and not really high. I've used cannabis flower previously but on a very light basis. I have a Mighty vapouriser, and pretty low tolerance.
I signed up with Medicann last Wednesday, uploaded my documentation and managed to book an appointment 10 days later. I kept checking though, and an earlier appointment became available for Saturday. I spoke to the doctor on Saturday, answered the few questions they asked and was told approval would probably come through by Monday (today). True to their word, I received an email this morning confirming my acceptance.
I used my PC to place my first order, the app is usable but a little clunky. I knew they wouldn't hold my hand so chose two 10g bags of flower myself after researching various sources. A lot of the information out there is contradictory, and obviously different things work for different people. I decided to go with a couple of Hybrids with good levels of CBD, which are Lot 420 Apricot Cream and Cheese (11% THC, 16% CBD), and Ostara Long Valley Legend Medical (8% THC, 10% CBD). These were dispatched Monday evening and are due to arrive tomorrow. Hoping I've done the right thing.
