Flower Curaleaf® GG4 T23 Gorilla Glue #4

This strain has just become available again and is a Curaleaf product so I'd of thought available to you and served me very well in the past with sleep and may be worth looking over. (y)
Also problems with GG4
It's not available to me at the moment. They've given me the ability to request from a limited selection of alternatives, I would probably need to schedule another consultation to request something that's no on the list.

For the night-time, the only options with higher THC than Lavender are GG4 and GGZ and GGZ apparently tastes garlicy which I reckon I wouldn't enjoy, so only really GG4 as a viable alternative to what I've been offered. It does seem like a good strain, very well reviewed on Leafly etc, just apparently these recent issues with Curaleaf GG4 quality putting me off.

I've also been offered alternatives to SSH for my daytime, but it looks like I have to swap my entire 20 g over to the alternative, whereas I'd ideally like to keep 10 g of SSH and use 10 g to try maybe Wedding Pop Triangle or something.

Understood.

I thought the same with Garlicy strains but strangely quite enjoy them now 🤷‍♂️ and it would seem the obvious one of the three but bare in mind the new one I suggested only came to stock today so possibly may be allowed without too much ado.

Personally I'd have the WPT over the Lavender Cake or GG4 for relaxing/sleeping as I had the weaker version and it was stronger in effect than Lavender Cake .

Fair enough, though it does seem like quite a punt swapping all 20 g over to something like a garlicy strain if there's that risk I really hate it!
The LA Kush seems to apparently be very sweet/confectionary like as well, which is a little problem I'm having with the Lavender that I find it a little sickly some nights, so I was thinking of trying a night-time strain that maybe had a more traditional taste. It's also just about the highest % THC they do - you really think they'd make it available to me without much fight?

Yeah, strangely the WPT is not available as an alternative to my night-time strain, only my day-time.

Yes it's a big punt and I just looked and Curaleaf are now dispensing 5g where available and this may help you as products within this category become available to you as it'll be less of a risk as you learn what works for you .
I don't know if that will really help! At my last consultation I suggested potentially splitting my prescription between 4 strains instead of 2 to help alleviate tolerance building, as I normally find that mixing things up more frequently helps avoid it. The response was that they actually prefer to stick to two strains because adding more, in their opinion makes tolerance building MORE likely, not less. I conceded that as I was still in the early stages and still working out how both strains fit into my routine, I would stick with that for now, and as a sort of compromise the Dr. said they'd add some alternative options at least so I can try different things at next refill.

So regardless of the smallest size of bag available for purchase, it seems they want me to stick to two strains at a time meaning I have to switch all 20 g over simultaneously. It's not ideal, I do genuinely think more strains would be more beneficial than fewer.

I'm getting mixed info on the taste of the LA Kush. Curaleaf formulary suggests vanilla cake/pastry icing. Leafly suggests earthy/pine/menthol?

If it was more the latter then yeah, it probably would be up my street.

My recollection was it wasn't sweet and I've just looked at the the Lumir® L.A.Kush my wife has still got here and it definitely more the second description as cake/pastry icing is just not my experience of this strain at all where as the Lavender cake for the example is on the sweeter side .

Fair enough. I'd seen some relatively recent reviews on YT for the GG4 and none of them are having the problems described, so hopefully just a one-off batch problem or something.

I think I'll request changing to the Lavender to the GG4 for now, since it's been made available to me and I always prefer the path of least resistance! I'll see how it goes and if it's still not what I'm looking for I'll consider requesting the LA Kush or perhaps WPT as a night-time strain at my next consultation.

That temp range really, should be ok. Defo get a bubbler or extra long glass vaping mouthpiece, to see if it helps. If in future you get a flower that makes you cough at least you'll have the tools to cool your vapour. A bong with a whip attachment should be ok too.

I've had the cura LA Kush and Lumir® LA Kush Cake. You can taste the Cake in the LA Kush Cake as well as the Kush. The LA Kush has got a sweetness to it.

Hi mate, I am with Curaleaf and I negatively ranted about them, but I discovered that from trying to change clinics and I had the worst experience from a health care professional and I learned all clinics do have their good and bad services and with Curaleaf I never had a problem with their CS it’s 5 stars 🌟 in my opinion, you can have more than 1 or 2 products but must be even like ie 2 lower strains and 2 higher strains and if you’re still in early stage of your MC and specially the age has a factor here so if you’re younger than ie 30 years old then it might be restricted to a certain extent, I do advise you to email patient support and they will get you the information you need and sorting out your MC, good luck 🤞🏽

P.S. I didn’t transfer and stayed with Curaleaf.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah I've only had my initial and follow up consultation so far, and apart from a slightly wobble in the application process, everything has gone very well so far including my consultations, my consultants, the quality of the medication, the appropriateness of the prescription, the ease of increasing the size, and how quickly they've allowed me to have a "strain selector" added, the speed of things being shipped etc, the speed of getting a travel letter, and any time I've used their customer service. All great.

I'm well over 30 unfortunately, and I present as quite professional and level headed, and I've only had positive things to say about the effects from the medication, so I think they've been relatively happy to give me some freedom already, whereas yeah, I've heard stories people being more restricted than I am now after years.

Seeing all the criticism of Curaleaf has been concerning, but haven't seen any signs of any of it coming my way, so hopefully it's just a symptom of they fact that they're the OG and such a large clinic and most people's first point of call that the absolute size of their unhappy customer base seems large, but in actual fact is still a small %.

For now I've put in the request to change the full 20 g of night-time prescription to the GG4 T23, hopefully it will be approved. It's no big deal if things aren't exactly as I'd like them for now, I'm still getting a significant amount of good medicine shipped my way every month, but yeah maybe in a month or two I'll take your advice and contact customer services about it.

Depending what you mean by "lower strain" and "high strain", yeah I can see me having say 10 g WPT 24% + 10g Higher Silver 20% for day-time, and maybe for night-time 10 g 29% GG4 + 10 g 20% Lavender or something like that. Would that count as "low vs high" in your opinion, or do you more mean like one 20-25% strain and one 7-10% strain?

Awesome, when I do have an ashes been advised to email patient support, ok I am in my 40s so when I started with them I followed their advice as new to MC and new to use cannabis, tried BM silver haze at the time a few times and I was a person extremely against cannabis usages but here I am , July august when I joined Curaleaf Clinic” Curaleaf “ I let them know I did try BM silver haze a few times before I joined so they started with GG T24 and 30ml of THC/CBD, then after 3 month they checked me again and I was able to chose something different, LA confidential and GG T28 I think now that was amazing product but never really came back, so my recent consultation I requested an increase now I get 60g a month , JFG 24%THC Chemango Kush 30%TH Cosmic Cream 31THC, so like you can see 1 of the strains has to be lower like the JFG @24% and SSH is 20% the the other 2 higher % , they will keep checking on you and meet with your needs and advise when needed. I’ve been with them since July / August 2023.

Yeah, well your "lower" strain is higher than anything I've been prescribed or offered so far, so that's a good sign lol I'll be able to get the kind of split I'm looking for at some point in the future.

GG4 T28 does seem to be available btw? You said it never really came back, or did you mean the LA Confidential?

I notice none of your strains are Curaleaf Pharmacy. Is it an additional hassle to get them to prescribe other stuff in the formulary?

No not at all, I always have their High silver but because I requested the JFG it has to be replaced till 2 weeks and I can request the high silver as I ordered 20g of the JFG, seriously you don’t have to have anything by Curaleaf, you’ve got options just let them know , not everything I requested my repeated prescription is Curaleaf only the high silver.

My 2 x 10 g of this strain. Definitely a lot healthier looking that the other pictures in this thread, and I believe this is also the strain that had an insects problem in recent history... not sign of that either so far. Though I don't know if I necessarily look close enough to catch anyway.

Will give a proper review once I've had some time with it. Both arrived on the same day but are actually different batch numbers with different expirations so will be interesting to see if there's any discernible difference between the two. They look and smell pretty similar. From the little I've had of the first bag, I will say the smell is very earthy with a subtle spicieness, almost like a subtle aftershave of an older gentleman. Not much in the way of pine/pungent that it's described in Leafly, or the "sourness" that's described on Curaleaf, but the earthiness definitely seems to be consistent across most descriptions. Initial taste is similar with a slight taste of freshly cut grass fading to more of a hay after a few puffs. There's also a slight smell of ammonia from the mouthpiece of the vape after a few puffs, which could be the "chemically"/"gassy" aroma that's sometimes reported with this strain. Quite a few strains derived from Gorilla Glue seem to feature on Leafly's list of strains with an ammonia smell. It does share some of those kushy notes from the Lavender Cake that it's replacing in my script, and seems to go sweet after a few puffs. Can't say I'm getting much of the chocolate or diesel that other reviews say this strain shares with its parent strains.

Regarding the ammonia smell, that's something I have had before with black market weed, and at the time it worried me and indeed online does suggest an ammonia smell can be linked to a poorly harvested/dried/cured batch. But I guess since this is medical cannabis, and ammonia is a characteristic of similar strains (and other strains such as cat piss exist...), and since it only smells slightly that way when vaped, not straight out of the bag, that it's probably normal. Although not something I'm necessarily keen on, so I'll see how it goes with this strain but so far the smell/taste is a little underwhelming and not quite the more natural taste I was hoping for.

So far all I can say about effects is that it's strong and I did sleep very well last night. But more detail after I've had some time with it.

When's that review system up and running? And will we be able to see our own reviews in one convenient location somewhere so the forum can almost be used as a tracker for individuals?
