I’ve got some flower that I’m gradually using up by making it into edibles.
I’ve decarbed some today in the ninja air fryer…I put it on bake setting at 210 degrees for 20 mins.
I stirred it half way through. After 20 mins it is looking very dark like a crumbled oxo cube. I think it is burnt as it is a different shade to the previous one i made which I did in the pressure cooker in a glass jar.
Do we think I should turn temperature settings down to maintain the green colour that pressure cooking gave or is normal to have a dark brown crumbled appearance after baking?
Thanks

You're wanting around 110°C - 120°C for 30 to 40 minutes for decarboxylation.

Exactly what TheGreenAvenger said, dark green, maybe hints of brown, 110-120C for 30-40 minutes. Right now your fryer is just vaping away the bud into thin air.

But if you follow this, then your bud is good to eat right away! Put it in whatevs, fatty chocolate or cheese or butter.

I personally do 120C for 30.

Sorry for late reply …I didn’t see this. Thanks for the info. In between I had tried it in tinfoil in my air fryer on lowest temp (think 120) for about 15 mins, it seemed to work pretty well.
I’ll do it for a bit longer next time,
Thanks again

I used the microwave convection oven on 120 for 30 mins . It looked good - hopefully work well too.
I get a small piece of bread and slather it with butter and put some leaf on it and swallow it as quickly as I can. The taste makes me gag. I tried making chocolate but found it hard work to eat due to taste …
New post automatically merged:

I’ve got two strains to use up over time. When taking leaf in this way will their effects differ just like when vaping it or will it be the same effect for both? I’ll find out when I try the other batch but just wondered

But why?????

Flapjack:
Heat a pan up and then set it to the lowest heat level. Then put 3-4 tablespoons of Coconut oil in the pan , add ground flower and heat for 20-30 mins while stirring occasionally. Then switch off heat and add ginger, black pepper, maybe chillies if you like them. Add golden syrup (as much as you want but i tend to do maybe 5-6 tablespoons. Mix up well. Add some oats to it. You are aiming to have a wettish mix of oats and the liquid. Heat oven to 175C. Put the flapjack mix on a baking tray, preferably on some greaseproof paper and put it in the oven for 10-12 mins. Remove and then put it somewhere to cool. You want a soft, slightly sticky flapjack.

Tablet/Fudge:
Put quarter of a slab of butter into a pan, melt it down and add some ground flower to it. Leave on a low heat for 20-30 mins, stirring occasionally. Next add golden syrup, sugar and half a tin of condensed milk. The amounts of sugar and golden syrup are up to you. Add some ground mint if you like mint. Now heat it up vigorously and stir it almost continuously. You want the mixture to start boiling and turn a deep brown. iI it starts to burn, turn the heat down. It usually takes 15 mins for me to get it to the point where it will set, but break really easily. Put it on baking tray on greaseproof paper and let it cool down. If you got it right it will be crumbly and not chewy like toffee. if it has toffee consistency you need to reheat it and boil it some more.

Oil:
At the simplest level, you could take an entire jar of coconut fat, melt the whole lot down and throw the ground flower in it. Maybe throw in 4-5g. Decarb for 20-30 mins on a lowish level, then leave to cool for a little bit, but pour the oil back into the jar. Once it cools it should solidify again. Store in the fridge. Put a teaspoon of it in anything you make that requires oil.

Yes. Different terpene profiles give different experiences. Or you could mix them both. It's up to you what you do. I like to have two strains worth. One for Day / Sativa and one for night (Indica). So i usually make small batches of flapjack or something else. Then store in two different tubs.

Thnk you so much for the detailed response and ideas - I’ll try some of them,
The reason I eat it how I do is that the taste when I made chocolate/butter mix made feel feel really sick and I was avoiding taking it because of that. I more or less make a tablet and swallow it - weird I know.
Thanks again

As long as you decarb in an oil, you are fine. What the oil is, is up to you. I find coconut to be more stable than butter and it doesn't go rancid as quickly. Years back i used to make little pots of omelette and bacon (keto treat) and I would throw a small amount (maybe a 1/5 or 1/6 of a teaspoon of the decarb'd oil in each one so i could get a hit of THC with it, an extra special treat per se. how you use the oil in your cooking is up to you. if you can't tolerate sweet things then do something savoury.

One thing i used to like doing was take a slab of beef mince, add some diced onions, mix with some oats, couple of teaspoons of the special oil, peppers, salt, then roll it out to make a flatish sheet of mince maybe 1cm thick, then sandwich it betweentwo layers of puff pastry, for a homemade type beef slice. Cook in the oven until cooked. Leave to cool, cut into squares and then freeze them individually. Defrost/microwave/eat, when needed.
