Drink Thread: What Are You Drinking? (Non-Alcoholic)

I gave up alcohol a few years ago for health reasons but still enjoy drinking a specific alcohol free beer occasionally as it seems to enhance the effects of my cannabis, obviously thought I was imagining it. Just posted on another thread about terpenes that could help with my condition and this alcohol free beer is described as:

extracted from Saaz-Saaz and Hallertau Magnum hops, which contribute to the beer's subtle citrus, hoppy, and floral notes
. The specific terpenes present from these hops include Humulene, Caryophyllene, and Linalool.

I don’t think I’m imagining it, other half has previously confirmed she experiences the same effects but only with this alcohol free beer.

Hi - What you're talking about here is the entourage effect.

Essentially the idea that combining additional terpenes from other sources will work in synergy with the cannabis terpenes to increase the bioavailability and metabolisation of cannabinoids.

As hops is Humulene as a dominant terp which is a relaxing vibe, it should boost the chilled feeling .

However this works better by eating mangoes for the Myrcene and lemons for Limonene etc... Rather than alcohol free beer I focus on natural ingredients. I have a full body of work around using teas and drinks in order to experience this effect on YT so feel free to have a look. Happy brewing

The alcohol free beer is probably once every couple of weeks… the sensation with alcohol free beer is short lived unless I’m on a bender lol and after about 5 bottles it’s very noticeable. As far as natural, the beer in question is considered natural as it uses non-GM maize, barley malt, hops, and natural flavors, without artificial additives.
.
My super healthy options for entourage effect are mangoes and mixed berries. Im into my gardening so grow my own berries and I also found some purple tomato strains (high in Lycopene) which I have been growing for a few years.

lycopene is not found in cannabis but if it is mixed apparently there is some sort if synergistic anti-inflammatory effect… perhaps?

Due to my illness I’m trying anything that could help relieve my symptoms. Some things work and others not so much…

Amazing response - I love how you're doing it-

Yeah I am pretty sure that one of the unique traits of lycopene is that it is fat soluble and therefore helps to boost and amplify the cannabinoids through this action. Also this works super well with high amounts of anthocyanins like butterfly pea or hibiscus flowers.

I love gardening too - I absolutely love growing tomatoes and berries! I have a bit of an obsession with tropical plants too.

I hear you on trying whatever you can to help with symptoms and it sounds like you are doing amazing! Homegrown food??? That's next level vibes  🍃🔥💚

@WakeyWakeyCC thank you for the positive vibes 🙏. I’ve always loved gardening but due to having a smallish garden / smallish koi pond I’m limited to tomatoes berries aubergine courgette which is enough to keep me active along with some gentle gym work. Before I got ill I didn’t care what I ate or how much but I’ve had to make changes and healthy & regulated eating is now a priority. I’ve only been a month into medical cannabis and I’ve already started regulating my intake and measuring doses, recording the effects etc with bm I just consumed and hoped I got some relief.

I can relate more than you know. Your story sounds very similar to mine... Just sounds like I am a few years further along the same path.

A near death experience has changed my entire life, following nearly succumbing to pneumonia and losing my life.

This was a huge catalyst for me to ensure I was making healing choices for my body.

Now I was bodybuilding and eating clean when it all happened to me so, I wasnt coming from a place of ill health when it happened . Mad.

The great news is we can heal ourselves much faster if we do really simple stuff like light exercise and keeping the nutrient intake high. I swear by using herbs for healing and I am seeing some amazing results by keeping it all clean and vibes.

I love the idea of recording things like doses and effects

Good luck on your journey and the WhatsApp is on my website if you or indeed anyone else wants to talk teas or just general healing

This is super similar to my Grandma's recipe which I swear by, except we always add a pinch of cayenne pepper too - it's great for opening up the airways, and getting rid of mucus when you're bunged up. I sometimes also add fresh ginger if I have it in the house.

I have been doing a ginger bug since start of march , Got 2 on the go and made a few healthy probiotic drinks naturally carbonated from fermentation.
Done pineapple, tropical, clementine and breakfast juice from tesco is my fav as it reminds me of club orange or pure orange and lemonade drink you get in a bar. Done ginger beer very fiery was my 1st try at it slight carbonation but a feel good drink and was missing healthy bacteria cos it makes ye feel good. Making own syrups with 1-1 weight ratio with fruit and sugar in jar 24 hr , sprite drinks with rinds of lemon and lime in sugar 24 hr n use that for flavour. Will make tepache drink for summer and do a tumeric bug and kefir 1. S boulardii in 100% fruit juice will fizz it up if not wanting to do gingerbug.
Loved wakey wakeys stuff , some ginger bug soda recipes would be appreciated.

My next purchase some old school full sugar vimto cordial for fermentation into fizzy vimto, No aspertame akselufame k , sucralose here 😍
