Recently travelled to Brussels via Eurostar. I got a little smell proof lockable travel case from Amazon (about £20 with pots etc). I had decanted from the original bags but kept them in the bag along with the relevant prescription. Made it through security with no issues. having passed through passport control there were three police/border control people near the exit. My heart skipped a beat as two of them walked towards me, but led off a guy that was walking next to me
I did wonder if they meant to talk to me though.
Anyway, all good on the return, so no issues overall.
Anyway, I'm travelling to Prague in a couple of weeks and only just found out (via this site) that you're supposed to have a travel letter, so a good job I didn't get stopped in Brussels!! Anyway, filled this in on Medicann's site expecting roughly a week to get this. It was probably an hour (max) and the letter was through
I'm guessing these are only recommendations, but has anyone had any negative experience of not doing any of these. E.g. I've seen the same response from the embassy that people have posted, so clearly not a major concern from their side. Also, keeping it in the original packaging and unopened is not particularly feasible, as I would need a new order and then the prescription number wouldn't match (plus, who doesn't like to try a bit as soon as it arrives
)
Xxxxxx has been advised by us prior to travel to Czech Republic:
- Speak to the embassy of the country that they are travelling to and/or through and obtain written
permission prior to travel that it is legal for them to be in possession of medicinal cannabis.
- Inform their carrier, airline or ferry company as some carriers do not permit the transport of
medicinal cannabis.
- Declare to customs and security on exit and entry their medicinal cannabis.
- Keep the medication in the containers in which it was dispensed sealed and unopened.
So, it's not saying these are country specific requirements, but would anyone say any of these are essential?
