Intros Hello, newbie with a couple of questions

That's awesome @Moon, mine arrived today too. So they must send all the prescriptions in on Thursday morning for next day delivery.

I got:
10g Tangerine boost (Releaf branded)
10g Gelato (Releaf branded)
10g 4C Labs Pink Kush

Just by the look of it the 2 Releaf branded ones from Glass Pharms are amazing. Really nice bud and the smell is great too.

The main difference is the Releaf branded has pretty much no stalk, it's all bud. While the 4C Labs is dryer and not loads but there is a fair bit of stalk in there.

Compared to what I've been getting on the BM for all these years, this is far better quality.

Can anyone comment on the general amount of stalk they have seen from other pharmacies?

I've added some pics too.

@Tripz Great to see your meds arrive and I can only vouch for the pink kush of them three as I currently am using this and it has a certain amount of quality about it ,but I'll be curious to see what you think of the Glass Pharms products as there has been varying reports on them and I've yet to experience them. Wow, can see your point right from the pictures here - that's a pretty poor trim job on the Pure Sunfarms™!

Hi Tripz, mine is not as stalky, but iv'e only opened one 10gram pack, I have 2. My Pink Kush is very dry, with an expiry date of March 2025, My initial thought was they are prescribing upon stock levels and getting shut of it! They (the consultant) wanted to give me Green Kush but they had no stock, so I got the pink. I dont think this will knock me out as this was meant to be my late evening knock out drop, it's not strong enough or sleepy enough for me, I am going to email releaf stating this and hopefully get something else on my next prescription, just been looking though the forums and making a note of those rated as good for sleeping.

Tripz can you leave a review of the Gelato when you get a chance, I need a well balanced one for daytime early evening and it might fit the bill.

Hey @Moon sorry been a busy few days.
I've had plenty of time to test all three though to get a good idea.

My Pink Kush was pretty similar to yours, it was only one or two bits that were particularly stalky. Mine was march 2025 too.

I did think it was pretty nice though, it was definitely the more evening/ sleepy one out of the bunch. Has a nice flavour and smell too, not the strongest but definitely potent.

Have you found anything that seems better for late evening and sleepy?

I would recommend it and probably will buy it again, though I'd prefer to pay the actual price everyone else seems to sell for, not the £7.99 per g that Releaf charge.

Both the Releaf/ Glass Pharms was some of the nicest buds I've seen in a long time though.

The gelato is a Hybrid, so it's good for the day and not too heavy if you want to get a bit done. The taste and smell was pretty nice too, I could easily just vape that all day. However I've had other gelatos before and this wasn't the strongest by far, it definitely hit, but I think I'm used to more Indica strains that just hit harder and leave you more couch locked.
There is also the fact that everything on the BM I get is very compressed, so these big light buds are probably far less THC then I'm used cramming in the grinder.

The tangerine boost though, that was amazing. The smell and taste was actually one of the nicest I've tried in over 10 years, it's very Sativa leaning, so if you want to get things done it's a great day time one to go with, very uplifting and heady.

I'll definitely need to see more brands and gauge quality for the overall market to understand how Releaf sizes up.
I wouldn't want to make a move from them if the quality isn't as good from other clinics/pharmacies.

Hey @GrownHealth
Ye I definitely liked the Pink Kush, it's still miles better then anything I could get on BM. I used it more in evening as I had a lot to do over the weekend.

The tangerine boost was the one for that for sure. I'm a little blown away by the quality and the trim they did on it. Though maybe I'm being naive and a lot of other brands are that quality too.
Overall though I'm very happy with all three and definitely like the Releaf ones. Hopefully I get to try an Indica of theirs next month.

What had you previously heard about the Releaf ones?

Yes the Pink Kush is a reliable one ,not creme de le creme but reliable and of a certain standard'

As for the Glass Pharms products a few people have knocked one or two but this is when they were released .

Maybe it's a case of there learning and improving and it'll be interesting to see what others think because they do look good on the eye. (y)

Hello.

Also wanted to quickly chime in that I am with Releaf and had my first appointment Wednesday. My experience with them was very smooth and the doctor was professional, listened and considered what I was saying about past experiences and sourcing specific strains that helped me in the past. I was given a limited choice to begin with (Pink Kush or Green Kush) but they agreed that after trialing, we can explore other options that I had suggested during the appointment or at least strains that can be as closely matched as possible. We will see how this goes, as I am very particular with what I have.

(I did enquire about quite obscure strains that I had tried while on a US tour, but she quickly found a breakdown of their lineage and terpene make up and discussed them with me. This I did like A LOT. Instead of simply saying they can't find them, she actively searched outside of here database (Which I am curious to what she has). As for price, yes expensive. But as mentioned above, I am happy to pay that extra premium for a smooth experience. So far, so good. I will also update progress.

P.S
Interesting that we seem to all be given Pink Kush...the pessamistic part of me thinks there is a larger margin for this one (pessamistic through years of pharmaceutical experience). I am happy to share it is for chronic insomnia.

What strains do you like
Martian Candy is one of my favourites, very relaxing and not much of that harsh headrush. The best sleep I have had for a long time. Only seen it in the US and I dream of it regularly (usually daydream haha).

Also a big fan of Blue Dream, Bubba Kush, Acapulco Gold, Grape Pie and California Orange for similar reasons. I always have a preference for the sedating strains as they result in a good night's sleep which I rarely get.

But on the other hand, Laughing Buddha was a favourite for a very long time, and it's the complete opposite. Very stimulating.

I look forward to trying Pink Kush! People here seem to like it which is promising.

Martian Candy 's a new one on me but I'll look into that because well I want to know now :giggle:
The Blue Dream is often available on Medical Cannabis here, the Bubba Kush I remember but cant remember the effects its been that long an California Orange was often consumed home and abroad.
Lets hope the Pink Kush helps but there's plenty more stronger if it doesn't so that's something to bear in mind as you try to find a strain that suits you.
In fact just checked and there's over a hundred at present ,which when you think of it is pretty remarkable.

Yeah, I got the Glass Pharms Tangerine Boost last month, absolutely love it. I think it will improve on rehydration too, but straight out the tin dry it's still a really really good daytime one I think

Was bloody stuffed in there tight too, have had to spread it out into an older empty tub of something else!

Hi Tripz, no i have not found anything better than the pink Kush, but have read about many that are better on this site for sleep etc, i am arranging another appointimet with releaf to discuss, and am going to push for something stronger in an Indica way! I want to try Death Budda, but not sure if releaf can supply its 4C Labs. I want to get to the bottom of what releaf can supply and them accepting my wants as opposed to just being prescribed, if this does not happen i may ahve to move clinic.

Hi DrM i agree on the pink kush we all seam to be getting it from releaf and its expiry date is march 2025, its like stock clearance, and probably a good earner for them. Releaf are efficient, but they did not offer me any choice and would not discuss the stock list they use.

Yeah, when I pushed a little harder in regards to strain options I was told "This is not a menu service" (light heartedly). It does appear, based on my opinion, that they could be trying to maintain a standard clinical procedure in strain choice. Pink Kush could simply be a good start point for all patients, middle of the road, then they may allow you to explore different strains from there once they understand what it is exactly you need. It's a good medical approach. What it is in actual practice I don't know. Only with more experience with them can I form a better understanding on how they operate and their decision tree.

That being said, my Pink Kush arrived today and I think it's pretty good. A lot more mellow than what I have been sourcing. Going to be my first night sleeping on it. See how it goes!

I think this is fine and possibly very sensible if people are geniunely new to cannabis, but for those of us who have been self-medicating with it for 20 years or more for example, I don't personally think it's helpful to have this restrictive hand-holding

For my first medical appointment / prescription I asked the specialist to pick the strains, but from there I went my own way

Hello everyone :)
I wished i had found this site and forum before paying £99 consultation fee to releaf, i appear to have chosen an expensive option.
My consultation is tomorrow, although they have written to me saying that they have revewed my medical records and i will almost defintely be prescribed.

A couple of questions, having paid the 99 i guess i should stick with releaf at least for a few months, can i use a releaf prescription elswhere, or are they in house only?

I am a lifelong cannabis user now in my 60s, i like a dark strong Indica hash (dark oily morroccan, black, nepalese), any recommendations for a bud that would be similar?

It's odd being a life long hash smoker entering the world of a million strains of bud!
Welcome Moon, just been reading your posts. You can't beat a bit of nice pollen, Lebanese or black. I'm in my 60's, I used pollens all the time and just a bit of green now and again until about 2016/17 when I started growing my own, i dont grow now, no space. It's Green all the time now, and a bit of pollen when I don't get my prescription on time or if it's not enough for the month. There is some nice High Silver on MedBud if you like the Northern Lights, if you have Sleep issues I found the LA Kush excellent for this when I used it of an evening 😀. There are lots of different Indica's available if you look on here, I don't think you'll have any issues, oils are supposed to work well too and as we were chatting last night on here Gummies, but I haven't gone down them roads yet.
