Flower Mega-Thread: Asking for Strain Recommendations

Hey Nadiezdha, warm welcome to a fantastic community... How are you getting on with your carts ? I found the Aurora® Sourdough worked really well for broken/intermittent sleep, to have at the side of the bed rather than to have to mess around loading bowls or whatever...
Good luck on your MC journey (y)
Woooooo! I just had my prescription meeting. Approved for 1 each of the Aurora® Sourdough and EHD carts via Montu, as well as 20g flower, which I'm hoping to redeem for Sudz and Black Jelly via IPS (which are both discount-tastic at the mo). The doc was clearly a noob, so didn't know how to split the scripts between pharmacies, but says pharmacy dept will sort it all out. Relief...
I gather it'll be the end of the week before it's gone through MDT and made it to pharmacy - and I know Montu have a delightful habit of sending their payment links at 1531 on a Friday, so I guess it'll be another week before I receive the meds.
Super-stoked to have got a script for the carts at the first meeting, though. Thanks, you lot for all your strain advice. And props to the dev team for building this ace website - it's been a superb resource.

Happy days, it won't be long before you get that notification, "out for delivery" every sound you hear you'll be at the window, blinds twitching 😅😂

Congrats on getting though everything and I'm loving the fact people are aware now of their options like you with IPS because when I came onto medical I was unaware that options like this existed but thankfully awareness is raised now a couple of years on and people are exercising their right to use outside pharmacies at will.
Fingers crossed it's here before weekend but if not at least its sorted out now 🙏

Great news and yes onto the delivery fun and games now lol ! For heavens sake stay home all day  lol !

This is definitely a chat I'll be having as I'm slightly more confident now and I ain't missing the discounts now they're so brilliantly available !

I wouldn't be aware of it without all the info on MedBud and helpful folks like @joint_account posting links to things like the IPS formulary. Your hard work is appreciated, GH, @Muiredach et al 🙏
Not to mention YT reviewers like SmackSalad and PseudoRecreational. I've learned more in the past 2 weeks than in the past 30+ years of cannabis use.

I am looking for a flower strain that has geraniol and/or Linalool, Caryophyllene & Humulene.

Ideally not a Sativa, although I am allot more tolerant to MC now than I was when I last tried a Sativa a few months ago so maybe I need to go try some again

So far I have spotted green joy moon rocks & liberation lemon cake, both of these list Linalool & Caryophyllene.

Those discounts are amazing, eh?! 10g each of Sudz and Black Jelly for just over £100, wow.

I'm new here and have also been looking for strains to try. So far, the best method I've found has been to look at the MedBud list of what's available from my clinic/in my price range, and then go to the actual product page, check out the terp profile, and then use the discussion tab to see what folks are saying about it. I also watch any reviews by SmackSalad and PseudoRecreational on YouTube and also read the comments for more feedback from MC patients. YouTube reviews are especially useful for detemining the likely quality and age/staleness of a batch. Leafly has a tool whereby you can search by terps/effects, but not all MC products make it onto the Leafly database, and their reviews seem to report quite inconsistent effects without a strong medical focus - "Dude, like, I'm sooo baked RN" seems to be the key reporting factor over on Leafly...
I don't know if that's at all helpful... I've found strain investigation to be quite labour-intensive, and have also found user reviews to report quite different effects to those which terp profiles might lead you to expect. Good luck!

Still some work to do 🙏 but some more info on terpenes

I can't imagine the amount of work involved for @Muiredach , but being able to search strains by multiple terpenes would be an amazing feature. I'm already looking forward to the forthcoming filter feature on the strain database 🤘
I can't code or owt useful, but if you ever need a user to beta-test new features or do some data entry, I'd be very happy to help - it'd be great to be able to contribute in some tangible way.

thank you for your help, being able to search the terpenes is brilliant.
i have narrowed it down to 4 strains.
4C Labs DB 26% has 2 of the 4 terpenes but is out of stock at CB1 Medical, two pharmacies have the 22% version but i am not sure if it shares the same terpenes or how to go about asking CB1 to order it for me?
Auroa Pink diesel also has 2 but is out of stock at CB1.
Grow® moon rocks has 3 and is hopefully going to be in stock at CB1 soon.
Primican liberation lemon cake has 2 and is in stock at CB1

so i think i will wait for the moon rocks to come into stock, hopefully any day now.

I would also keep my eye out for the Death Bubba and Pink Diesel showing up possibly soon as with the PD sometimes it changes availability often on CB1 iirc

It's the most overdue feature on the entire site, alongside launching public reviews. The filters are likely going to be caught waiting until our big MedBud 2.0 mobile overhaul, because of the complexity of building in all the filters on the frontend (as in, immediate/quick filtering in-browser, as opposed to querying our server every time to reprocess). About 60-65% of all MedBud users are on mobile right now - and are forced to zoom-in on our main database website designed for desktops. The plan is to overhaul the lot at the same time.

For the moment we're trying to finalise all our core features, before jumping into the huge UI redesign process.

Written reviews with star ratings are going to launch as soon as we're able to - the only reason we haven't launched so far is we need better reliability on verifying new patient accounts on the main site, while then also having to manually approve reviews all-day everyday. Things like the Online Safety Act necessitate us having to check all reviews before allowing them to be published (so it's not some random bot advertising porn websites) – and while muggins here is already overrun all-day everyday.

@GrownHealth gets the situation well by now, overall we basically need to scrape enough funding together to hire a full-time staff member - which will can help with approvals, while freeing me up to dedicated the time to developing all the new features properly. Between just the two of us there's one hell of a daily workload already to deal with as volunteers.

Our largest bottleneck right now is me spending hours every day updating the main database, or having to take calls/meetings - instead of just focusing my time on web development.

Drop me a DM/email if I can help. I've time to spare at the mo and some relevant experience. I'd be glad to do some vol'ing and would love to contribute to the project - I've got mad respect for what you're doing and know what a huge task it is. I've been involved in website rebuilds and can handle approving reviews and data entry easily enough.

Welcome @eeze95. To cut things down short The Cannabis Plant is the only plant that can mimick another flavour. When the genes were created to make skunk it started from there I think regarding flavours. Then there was cheese 😍. Cake is a strain of Cannabis like apples and bananas, cherry, are strains and all will or should have hints of these flavours
