I just like to make a dedicated post for migraine , cluster , cervicogenic and vestibular migraines with some studies and what might work and what doesn't

I have suffered with what i call generic migraines with aura since a child , these have went away and came back throughout the years and becoming worse 2023 since starting MC in feb i had seen around a 30% reduction maybe as much as 50% only to have a flare up recently caused by stress (DWP).

I was diagnosed roughly 2015 with cluster headaches which is a different type of headache with severe pain in the eye and this is a harder headache to get rid of than my generic migraine and use zolmatriptan to abort which works, This headache i feel to stay away from stimulating profiles in canna flower and would look towards edibles or oils as a preventer , i try to keep nutrtion and minerals up to scratch and look after gut microbiome as i feel in all migraine types has a correlation with gut bacteria.

2018 i was diagnosed with vestibular migraines which is everything the migraine offers without the headache and in my case a very spinny room with very bad sickness , like coming off the waltzers with the worst hangover ever so sick and dizzy thats at its worst and at its best is vertigo and nausea and this where Myrcene flower seems to work best for me as it can deal with that tpe of dizziness

I get very stiff neck everyday base of skull and going up into top of ear that can make its way into eye and was seeing osteopath for years who said its cervicogenic headaches but stopped treating me when i was suffering from cluster headaches so dont know if related to neck or cluster stiff neck but these are crazy sore headaches that could last a week and with no food and not alot seem to work , Myrcene , carroyphyllene, Humulene profiles seem to work best for this.

I suffer daily and canna seems to work a good amount of time but alot to do with prevention than aborting. No point in picking out strain that works so best go with profile that works because of how diff each batch is on MC but sedative canna profiles the best overall, CBD and Limonene can be beneficial.

Will add studies etc in this thread later and hopefully other headache patients can chime in with what works with preventing / aborting and lifestyle changes that seem to help .

My partner suffers with cluster headaches, connected to osteoarthritis in her neck which puts pressure on the nerves and blood vessels causing a cluster. She wears a collar when it's bad to try and alleviate the pressure but ultimately a microdose of psilocybin was the absolute game changer.

The stiff neck is the main contributor or as i see it cause of clusters but docs overlook it for some reason. To me those collars look comfy lol.

Been looking at microdosing for years , Might take the leap , Does your partner use as an abortive or preventer , i know of so,eone who takes everyday as a preventer , appreciate the links

She was having up to 12 attacks a day and using the maximum number of the vile sumatriptan nasal sprays. They ended up giving her a medication migraine. She stopped the sumatriptan and one 0.2g dose stopped the cluster attack but it took a week for the sumatriptan migraine to go away. She now takes a microdose every 2-4 weeks if the headaches start niggling but the cluster headaches have never come back in the same way and she's managed it for over two years now. It's been discussed with the GP (off the record) and a pharmacist once pleaded with her not to take the sumatriptan because the side effects are so horrible. She reacts to naproxen and can't take lots of the other NHS migraine meds due to glaucoma and other conditions

I am wanting away from zolmatriptan nasal sprays and waiting on neurologist appointment, Getting 1 to a few attacks a day not every day but the necks the issue so was trying to prevent through neck with canna but hit and miss , the 10 10 pastilles was good and currently trying grow 20mg THC 10mg CBD oil not too bad but will need to go down microdose route as the sid effects from the meds are bad. Bit of a crazy question since neck has osteoarthritis but did shrooms alleviate any stiffness neck issues contributing to her headaches.

Sadly not, but the MC helps with the pain and inflammation. Cold, wet, wintery weather doesn't help

We haven't had any frost yet, so you could still get meds from nature. I picked a years worth of meds in about an hour, which is where my interest ends these days lol

I had a migraine about midday, took zolmatriptan and prochlorperazine for migraine and slight nausea , 2 hrs passed and still there , took 1ml grow 20mg THC 10mg CBD oil and seemed to have calmed it a good bit , will see how it goes and will try and use as an abortive on its own without other meds , think CBD helps alot with THC. I do think full spectrum oil would be better than disty THC and CBD that is more like a green dragon tincture without the alcohol so i just hate calling them oil.

2 weeks off flower and on hash rosin vapes and had no headaches , 1 day on flower with migraine with aura and bad sinus issues, It maybe time i give up flower and move to hash rosin. Flower can take migraine away but i dont want to vape to worsen sinus so 0.5g in cup of tea see how it goes, Time to really adjust n change my cannabinoid usage.

Great news mate and I suppose when you do real life trials like this on yourself you sort of have to respect the results but it's the mental barrier now of leaving the flower behind but with the results you've just had hopefully the transition will be easier as the results are fresh in your memory🤞

I forgot how effective flower tea can be so i might get some for that but its not worth it to me , It something i dont want to do but need to and there is alot of lets just say sinus inducing flower out there and nothing near top shelf and top mids thats clean enough to carry on. They vapes gave me the cleanest medicinal experience clear head chest and nose , medical flower bunged up.

I have done alot to try and combat these headaches over the last few months. Bought frankincense resin to fill room to eradicate migraine but cleared sinus more than anything which helped migraine a little. I thought i would try a ginger bug to take me away from fizzy caffeine juice and dairy kefir use but still using kefir once a week for other probiotics and using ginger bug sodas every day 250ml x 2 a day mainly fresh orange juice.
Alot of positive effects on mood i had with fermented drinks but got a different type of migraine 3 weeks in and i dunno if fermented drinks was a trigger. I had a banana which has taken me to tyramine and histimene instead of sinus.

Fermented foods are high in tyramine and some histimene producing bacteria that could cause migraines , I had done eradication diets but never got anywhere. More focus on tyramine for now and ordered bio kult migrea probiotics for migraine sufferers will try them and see if it helps and try a banana again for trigger another bad headache with avocado which is high tyramine so hopefully narrowing it down. Then i can hopefully introduce fermented foods over time to reduce tyramine sensitivity and have a more diverse gut.

Migraine sufferers share a similar microbiome dysbiosis so its an area that should be looked into alot more. Psychobiotics

I've just come across this and thought it may be relevant in here.
In conclusion it states higher THC shows improvement , i am capped at 27% up from 25% for epilepsy as thats what i am precribed for so taking secondary conditions like my migraines that could fall under epilepsy related i will ask to up my THC% for headache improvment , Hash prob best option.

It'll be interesting where the extracts sit with patients having THC limits regarding certain conditions as I remember MigraineMan finding great relief with rosin from non irradiated flower .
I do remember someone having a T25 limit but they were prescribed rosin carts so that leans in favour of limits not translating across different formats🤞

Also it's good to see mate your clinic feel happy enough to raise your limit as it'll give you a few more options 👌
