I agree 100%. imho
MC genetics are very scrambled and mixed up, with everything in everything else it seems to me. As you know I started with amazing hash in 72, imho when all that ended (RIP) sometime mid 80s all Cannabis went downhill.
As soon as the Californians got the breeding and money bug the green was doomed in the manner I described. I had the pleasure of growing some real Maroc and Lebanese cultivars I collected and a real Kush or two before it was impossible to find as cheese and thai became the gods. . then the cookie/fruity/cakey thing began and I ducked out in favour of the best hash I could find and that was not so good.
Seeds of good old cultivars are available now, but they are often naturally low yield, loose structure and not suitable for the cash counters needs. They also contain a lot more of the "minor "cannabinoids and 1000 other chems we need, so there is the usual conflict. Profit V Customer/patient need.
Add to that the awful transportation, logistics and regulation load (all fossil fuel heavy ofc) and it's a surprise to me that any product is decent, which does happen!
