Morning all, has anyone successfully managed to address weight discrepancies with Montu? I've submitted footage of opening and weighing Upstate Tropical Cherry T22 which was a gram under and they have responded to state they won't accept this as a weight problem due to me using my (very expensive) kitchen scales plus they allow tubs to weigh between 9-11g etc- I've not replied yet as I wanted to see if anyone has any advice. I'm still waiting to hear about the mysterious holes throughout the buds which could still be a quality issue and I've been advised not to use this until I hear back from them. I had thought the only security us patients had against being ripped off was to take footage of opening and weighing but it seems we are unlikely to get anywhere even with taking this precaution unless it's reeeeaaaallllyyy under, bit frustrating as this is not only leaving me short but I'm getting through my other meds more rapidly whilst I wait  Any advice gratefully received, thanks

Sadly they're legally allowed to get away with 9% which takes 10G of cannabis to 9.1 grams, shouldn't be the case and there's often blurred lines from clinics and pharmacies alike when it comes to the returns process they'll often rebuff for one reason or another ☹️

This is sad to hear as a whole gram under is not acceptable in medicine and especially a paid for product in private medicine and to be frank what do they expect you to do more than what you did.
I have heard of tolerance of +-10% but in practice recently we are consistently seeing 9.9 to 10.5g and unfortunately it does sound like you are at their mercy and lets hope common sense prevails here 🤞

Does any other medicine get short measured?? The weight should be bang on or a minimum of 10g. If I get tablets on prescription from the pharmacy and they don't have enough they have to make it up when they do have stock.
For me, when they do this they stop being pharmacies and clinics and start looking more like recreational suppliers hiding behind t&cs

In my wayward youth, a recreational supplier would re weigh and make good although I understand other people may not have had such a positive experience. But as for other meds being short, you're right- It wouldn't wash at my local pharmacy.

Yeah, I'm struggling to see what else could be done and it does seem as it big pharma will wheedle their way out of this as a standard policy. Oh to be able to pop to the local dispensary and see it weighed out upon purchase!

Profits before people, of course!

Sorry to hear this @strangeandunusual.. I’ve had a similar issue and the MedBud feedback suggested as per your post that the pharmacy is allowed 1g tolerance above or below the stated 10g which is shocking 😳.. I’ve been under once but all others have been on weight or over.
I have also been lucky so far, most have been either bang on or a wee bit over. I'm wondering if it's because this is non IR which Upstate would no doubt want to max profits on?

Does that apply to medicines?

In my wayward days in the early 90s one of my dealers use to take a handful of weed and put it in some cellophane, no weights just guesstimated.., it was always way over but then half of it could be seeds and stems… Recently been picking up the occasional 1/8th of hash..and the dude has been giving me 5g + because he wants my business back… another unintentional benefit of accessing medical.

Yes mate they're defined as packaged goods due to being sold sealed, weigh
between 5g and 25kg, and the same weight as other products of the same type.

Bangers really because I've worked in the food industry all my life and we have pre defined check weights, if a product is under weight by X grams it's pinged off/rejected.

The distributors should always overfill slightly by their measure so that almost nobody gets an underweight bag. Big boost for their customer relations!

But kitchen scales are probably not accurate enough to discriminate such small weights, even if nominally calibrated to 0.1g.
