Hi

I am new to the forum. Been using BM for many years, now looking into MC. It is a minefield! It’s all so confusing unless you’re an expert in strains etc. also there are so many clinics and then apparently there are the labs that provide which are separate again. Is there any information on here to break down the process, which are the best clinics for customer service, quality of material etc?

Welcome to the froum @Piggle2009 and it can seem overwhelming looking from the outside but it is a lot simpler than it first appears rest assured 🙏

The elements are you have a clinic who prescribe you and then it will be dispensed from a pharmacy and some clinics have this all in one whilst others like mine are a clinic only so I choose which pharmacy to send it from the Cannabis Based Prescription Medicine pharmacies .

Most of the clinics have access to the same products/material so the quality should be the same as it's from the same importer/supplier but the ranges available can differ from one clinic/pharmacy to another and it depends a lot on budget as some clinics offer excellent all round options and service but cost more where as some work out from £10/month + the cost of medication and in fact we have a new clinic offering free clinic services now (Medcann)

I'm currently with Cannabis Clinic Cardiff and my wife is with CB1 Medical and whilst my service and options are superb my wife's service with CB1 has been excellent but choice of products less so but adequate .

Feel free to ask anything and between us we'll have the answers as others here are with other clinics(y)

Thank you for the response. I went to the Medicann website to try to contact them. There are 2 numbers advertised, neither of which work. I then emailed and got a very poor response. I would love to get some feedback from others that are with Medicann or have contacted them about registering. I don’t get a great feeling about them but will reserve judgement for now.

We have this from a couple of members here if it helps,

Welcome, Piggle! I'm new to MC too, and it all feels overwhelmingly confusing at the start, I agree.

I'm with a clinic called Alternaleaf, so can tell you a bit about them, if it's of interest for comparison.

They run a membership model - you pay £10 per month, which covers all your consultations and the delivery charge for your prescription. They use several different pharmacies, including their own ( Montu). If you split your monthly prescription over multiple deliveries (for instance, if you want to split payments, or split your order over multiple pharmacies), there are additional delivery charges to pay.

I believe that by law, all clinics have to check-in with their patients every 12 weeks, so consultation charges can add up, depending on which clinic you choose, and the payment model they operate..

All clinics will require you to submit a Summary Medical Record (SMR) and a copy of your ID, so it's worth asking your GP for a downloadable version of your SMR as soon as possible, to avoid slowing things down. As far as Alternaleaf goes, they do an initial consult with a pharmacist to check your eligibility, followed by an appointment with a doctor, when you will discuss what type of meds you want (flower, cartridge vapes, edibles etc) and any strains which might work for you. After this meeting, the doc will submit the agreed prescription to the clinic's multidisciplinary team (MDT) for approval which takes around a week. After this, the script will be issued to you for payment, and then delivered within a couple of working days.

I had my eligibility consultation a couple of weeks ago, followed by the doc appointment this past Monday and I'm just waiting for my script to pass MDT and be issued to me. The doc was very open to my requests for specific products and strains, so I found it was worth doing some research ahead of the consultation.

All the best with choosing a clinic and getting going!
