Hi all,

I'm 34y/o male, in 2021 I suffered a Chemical burn which destroyed the nerves in my arm, treatment was on-going for over 1 year with every method of stopping the acid to continue to burn including cauterization and ultimately ended in a skin graft surgery.

I was diagnosed with CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) and I have been through 10+ different prescription poisons with horrific side effects such as Morphine , Pregabalin, Gabapentin with no relief.

Over the past 7 or 8 months I have been using RSO - Rick Simpson oil which changed everything, The issue is consistency in getting hold of it and the unreliable strengths.

I've now taken matters into my own hands and have demanded a weaning off process from my GP and will be going down the medicinal cannabis route.

My question - Which clinic?

I have a friend using Curaleaf and she has never had any issues, but after researching, it's made my decision very difficult.

CB1 Medical, Mamedica®, Alternaleaf, Curaleaf ???

I will primarily want to be using oils as it is discreet, but will also want flower.

Any recommendations or advice would be very welcome,

Thanks

MB

Welcome to the community @MB92 and sorry to hear about your injury and journey to this point but it's refreshing to see when you took matter into your own hands you found relief.
On the basis of you preferring oils and from the list of clinics above I would probably suggest Alternaleaf as they have a large selection of oils available through their pharmacy Montu and access to IPS pharmacy's range too which has a large selection of oil products and probably cover a lot of the oil products available between them where as Mamedica and CB1 have a lesser formulary of oils at present and with Curaleaf patients we find most transfer after seeing a more suitable experience elsewhere after seeing others experiences at other clinics .

Good luck with this and you've come to the right place for advice/help as members will chip in here with their thoughts too and feel free to ask away (y)

Welcome to the Community @M92 I'm with CB1 Medical and no issues so far. There site, online over the phone will be down for 4 days this month. I put a post up here under CB1 Medical of the closure dates and times of last appointments and Meds. You'll be looked after by a couple of recommended clinics above. Think about how much you can afford to be with any clinic for starters each months or quarterly or yearly, be careful not to sign up with a contracted clinic because if you have issues and want to change clinics youll carry on getting charged if you do change to another clinic. Its usually a 3/4 months contract with these clinics. CB1 Medical does not charge you for the first year if changing from another clinic, so if you decide on another clinic and were not happy at least you will not get charged by CB1 to change to them.

Hello & welcome, I’m sorry about your injury and pain.
I use oil and flower for nerve pain, both are good but I do prefer flower as oil takes 90-120minutes to take effect and my pain is not always constant so it’s hard to plan the oil usage.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and advice,

@Dooby Doo I've read a lot of good things about CB1 Medical, I wouldn't have a clue on costs as I'm unsure how much I would require.

@GrownHealth Thank you for the Alternaleaf recommendation!

@cornucopia I agree, that is definitely the downside with oils, they do take a while to kick in. Would the next most discreet way be vaping with a dry herb vape? or maybe the cartridges?

Thanks again!

I have not tried a cartridge but I have read that they are more discrete and can look like a regular vape. Dry herb vapour isnt as obvious as smoking is but there is definitely a slight odour but it does quickly disappear and it doesn’t stick to your clothes like the smoking smell does.

Hey MB and a warm welcome to the community... So sorry for what you've been through and obviously still trying to deal with and find help for. I wish you nothing but the very best of wishes on your journey and hopefully with the help of the good folk here and your clinician you'll find what you're searching for..
Vaping still smells, as it does when using a cart but the air clears so much quicker and doesn't linger.. If you had the correct battery, you can do discreet sips and the smells would be minimal..
Good luck 💚
