Vapes Ruby Twist

I got the recommended Chugga glass with my Twist but I’m finding anything over 260 is too much for my lungs. I’ve now got a semi permanent cough.

Does anyone use any additional cooling like an inline piece between the bong and injector?
You can buy add ons like a looped glass piece, cant remember the name of them at the moment. I use a Globe which hold more water for cooling. You can get the Square shaped and oblong shaped glass bongs which hold more water too.

There could be a way of attaching a whip with bits and pieces?

Over years I have tried glass with warm/cold/icy water. Then dry, no water. Then isotonic saline water ( helps to reduce the hot vapour drying issues). Now I use dry glass, it's no rougher than water and it does not trap and steal those molecules we pay for so much as water does.

Changing the relative humidity of your flower may help too, up or down! Finally you can get small inline "traps" that can keep scooby snacks from the bong and/or your mouth, I had one with balls that cooled too though that will trap goodies ofc. Recommended Vapes used to have a couple of types, worth a look and an email. Matt is very knowledgeable.

Incredible service again from Recommended Vape Supplies!

So there are a few things which can come into play here:
  • The extraction speed is quite a lot quicker than for other devices so the straight up volume of thick vapor can cause irritation for some. Loading a little less in can help here.
  • In some cases it is more due to people riding the line close to combustion, if this is the case you may want to reduce the temperatures a bit.
  • Another cause can be terpenes, if your herb is very terpy, and you're not running it hot, you may actually want to increase the temperature a little to burn off some of the terpenes, or heat soak the bowl briefly before inhaling to do this. That tend to make things a fair bit smoother.
  • Could also just be that you've picked up a cold which is being irritated by the additional vapor, a lot of stuff going around at the moment!
You may be staring at the screen thinking, yeh but answer my question, the reason I didn't do that directly is that with the Chug the vapor is cooled very well already and adding more into the setup probably won't make much difference from the cooling side. However adding a little extra glass in the system to increase how much of the vapor condenses may help if the above suggestions don't. I tend to rather suggest tweaking the setup over spending more money which may or may not help.

However if that's the route and the above doesn't help, adding in one of our ash catchers would be a good way of adding some extra glass into the setup without going the whip route.
The Pass Through Ash Catchers (carbed or otherwise) work well in this instance and might be worth trying out. Some people also fill them up with 7mm glass balls which makes for a hell of a vapor filtration system.

Ok. Here’s my main takeaway after a few months and some recent experimenting.

Set your temp to 280, preheat the glass injector jobbie for a few minutes before use! Fill, heat again for ten seconds then go.

It uses much more of the flower and delivers in a quicker, cooler hit.

Before I was doing massive long drags but it was getting waaay too hot.

Further fine tuning of my ruby twist experience today after reading a few of the above posts 😁

Anyway I've give it a good cleaning (although I reckon I need to replace the gauzes ) and tried some Tropicana Cherry through the microdose bowl but edging the temps up to 260 and it was a bit more toasty but the whole lot completed a lot quicker so less drawn out drags and a little cough and that was it👌, time to try some LCG before probably changing the gauzes but frankly I need to start using/relying on these devices as I'm smoking a lot and not really getting the best out of my meds:unsure:

If you don't mind me asking GrownHealth. Are you pleased with the ruby twist?
I already use the tinymight though a (dry) bubbler.
I have had the recommended vape supplies tab open since xmas but am still a bit hesitant to spend if I'm approaching the point of diminishing returns.

I would be very interested to hear yours or anyone else's thoughts

I love mine mate, worth having one around when needed.

Oh nice you have one too Dooby! Do you find it to be more efficient than.... from memory you have a mighty.. don't you?
No mate, i did have a crafty+ though and just had to purchased a Ariser Solo 3 after losing my Xmax.

The Ruby tastes better than a portable like a storz or something like that, I don't get that popcorn taste through the Ruby like you do with most portables

yeah i imagine a xmax is so small that it's quire easy to misplace. I felt the solo was better than xmax though so hopefully murphys law has given you a upgrade.
Cheers for the advice on ruby twist too, I've been led to believe that the popcorn taste comes from conductive heat whereas the twist is more convection.
I am very tempted to get one but I can only justify the cost if its going to be more efficient. The tinymight cost me more in herb than the device it's self because of the "new penny shine"

Get it from Puffinmaster if money is an issue, you'll save pounds, think I paid £143 with the Titanium Hybrid Matrix Bowl and the Microdose bowl thrown in free too 👍. Yeah the Xmax i have i lost twice before and the Ariser Solo 3 was my next purchase for a portable and I like the idea of the glass stems rather than the capsules, fingers crossed I enjoy it and you have given me hope. I got chatting with the person I bought it from and it still has over 12mths guarantee on it, they have thrown in more extra stems and a water piece after chatting with them so thats an appreciated bonus on top of all the extras inclined anyway with it, I'm really looking forward to trying it out 👍

That's great advice many thanks Dooby. You'll love the glass stems, they make cleaning much easier, especially if you have a few spares coming.
Arizer were my introduction to dry herb vaping so i will always have a soft spot for their products. I hope you enjoy using it. New vape day is always an occasion.

Smokey Mo | Upgrade the Ruby Twist with me 👊💚

In today’s short I use the Ruby Twist Pro conversion kit to upgrade my V1 Ruby Twist

In short, I’ve not found a major difference from upgrading, other than a slight change in airflow.

But however I do feel if you are upgrading from the thermal twist, getting the pro conversion housing kit would be beneficial.

Hope you find this short useful, stay medicated people 👊💚😌Link to conversion kit used in short -

I felt the same with the pro upgrade… never felt much of a difference apart from airflow

i know this is the twist, but ive also found an alternative way for my vapana ace. again it has the glass bowl or the Hybrid, but either way, its same process

i dont heat the bowl, instead i leave the bowl and the meds all set up and ive been putting the controller to 290/300. heat up for around 3-5 mins, 7 i aim for, then i pop this on top of the bowl. leave for about 30 secs to 1 min and then inhale, temps lowered in the balls and bowl is warmed up

ive found a much smoother return and you even see some vapour fill the glass whilst the 30 sec pre-heat occurs
