Clinic
Still Deciding
Hi all! Thank you for your help.

I've been through the research rabbit hole and come up with a short listed clinics, but given my specific needs I wonder if it is worth it?

1/ I have had M.E./CFS since the age of 14 (over 25 years) so I'm well versed on my symptoms, but more recently for various reasons I have been struggling with inflammation and struggling to relax my muscles.

2/ Complicating factor is that I get prone to bouts of tonsillitis/sinusitis and from about 7 years ago I can no longer tolerate vapor or smoke of any kind. Even smelling cigarette smoke on people's clothes will give me muscular pain and trigger a throat issue. This is from previously being a social smoker.

3/ So I'm thinking I can only do oils? Do vapes still dry the throat? Last time I used one was 7 years ago and had to stop due to dry throat.

At the moment my only relief has been from temporary use of diazepam which has helped me be more active and prevent deconditioning of my muscles. However, I am now off diazepam as it was prescribed to help me wean of an anti-depressant (also I'm off it because it is freaking addictive even though I got none of the reactions others claim to get on Diazepam- it's always had a mild effect on me and helped with focus and concentration which people tell me is crazy :ROFLMAO:).

Please ask if you need more detail, I didn't want to go overboard on an introduction thread. But basically I'm concerned if it's worth it if it turns out I can't vape due to throat issues. Ideally I find something to let me stay active like the diazepam did so I don't decondition (not saying it has to be like diazepam lol).

Any advise kindly received.

Welcome, I think the honest answer is yes, dry herb vaping does have the tendency to dry your throat a little. They are a lot less intense than the nicotine vapes though, the vapour is much thinner / less so it could possibly be manageable for you?

There are oils and even pastilles available, though you would be best speaking to the clinic doctors for any specific advice about what would be suitable for your situation / conditions

Wow, nice to be part of an active forum,
I think I'm just apprehensive because I'm reacting to so much atm.

scents, vapor, smoke, even high strength CBD gave me inflammation.
I have smoked medical cannabis before and it helped so i'll experiment with oils and double back to vaporisers and explore the cooling options if the oil is a bust.

Appreciate all the contributions to the post.

If you get inflammation from vaping, go with oil or edibles/pastilles. i really wish they would catch up and offer it properly in more forms, like you can get in the US and Canada.

I think edibles are much better if you are looking for a slower release that affords you a more even experience over a longer time period, but you need to be honest with yourself about tolerances and you are probably going to push it too far at some point, so i'd keep the benzos available. If you do go too far with dosing, it's far less forgiving and having a tab of diazepam will allow you to surf the experience out with a little more finesse.

When you vape you have to top it up. It's like using it to reach an initial plateau, then adding more every so often to maintain it. With edibles I just take some and it lasts a good while without that need for topping up and no need to suck down on hot vapours either.

I don't know for oil. I've had full spectrum once and it was really strong, but manageable. I know people who have taken it in a super concentrated form for all manner of ailments and no it didn't fix everyone, but it does work well for some things, pain being one of the major ones and epilepsy being another.

In short, if you can't vape, then don't vape. Vaping is one possibility out of several. Whomever you sign up will be able to customise things for you to make it easy.
