It's 6am, my fridge is pretty empty, and I'm not getting my big supermarket delivery until late this evening...

Don't judge me too hard, I genuinely eat once a day - and sometimes skip days 😅

More generally, feel free to use this thread for food chat and what's for dinner. Secretly hoping it can help me break my own bad eating habits.

I actually thought I'd lost a bit of weight since being here ,but it seems I've not and am still 82kg that I've been for about 25 years .
Personally need to start eating a bit more regular as I have a rubbish appetite but was glad to see mash and meatballs last night .
Going to be a good boy now and get some shreddies.

We live rurally enough that take aways are a 30 min drive away and no delivery, so we cook a lot.

I’m also the once a day type of eater, with a protein shake or banana in the day if I get hungry. I make home made flapjacks or scones/cookies for deseserts.
This was a quick home made chilli

I use 3-4 types of bean in mine but apparently the new Lidl vegan mince is great so I’m gonna try that in the next week or so.

Try to eat dark leafy greens at least once a day. Always eat some nuts to.

I’m not Perfect and eat beans on toast more than I like to admit, but I really enjoy cooking so try and do it often.

This would feed me for a couple of days 😂 well done lad 👌🏻

A Banana and a snide Actimel seem to stimulate my appetite somewhat; otherwise, I'll never eat. Being a Geordie, I can easily be persuaded with a Greggs. What have you done @Muiredach? Don't you know these suggestions are contagious when medicated?

Now beans on toast now were talking 😂 A firm favourite in this house, made in 3 minutes while the kettle's on ,unload the dishwater then refill it pour the brew ,butter the toast and ding ,microwave done with the beans ,proper all round efficiency ,who said men can't multi-task😁
No greens/veg in my diet really unless heavily disguised just spuds and beans ,even pick the carrots out of stew:giggle:

I was exactly the same. My dad was a pro gardener so there were a few issues around mealtimes! Add a little worcester sauce to the beans...

Oh yes it was daily battle. It was also not helped by the fact that everyone boiled the poor veggies to death at that time. But yeah took me a long time to take at least a minimal interest in them. It was a good caesar salad with warm chicken that got me onto veg...

Special curry fried rice and noodles. Looking forward to it after a stressful day and not ate since 5,30am.

Had my big supermarket shop arrive, think it's going to be pasta bolognese for 'todays' meal (I slept a good 8 hours since this morning 🤣).

Have a half pound of minced beef, onion, leek, celery, carrot, a big beef tomato, parsley, fresh Fuseli and soured cream. Will fry with a mix of lard and beef dripping, because I'm trying to get rid of as many seed oils from my diet as possible!

Will start with toasting some cumin, fennel and caraway seeds - then caramelise the soffritto to high hell, deglaze with obscene amounts of Worcester sauce and some balsamic. Add some old school Bovril to make some beef stock, and a bit of tomato puree and cornflour to thicken - with a smidge of sour cream for buttery tangy goodness.

Only thing I'm missing is bacon, and grilled mozzarella to top!

🤤
