Hi - please can I ask for some advice?
30yrs ago I used to sometimes smoke BM cannabis - always via a friend …it was nearly always resin. He did occasionally bring leaf which we called ‘skunk’.
I remember the feeling that it gave me.
Fast forward to now and my disability has brought me to MC to help with pain etc. I’ve used oil and then two strains of leaf (red beard and Lavender cake)
I’ve had a couple of negative experiences, but on the whole have tolerated all three. Apart from a bit of headache etc, side effects are mild and I will continue…

What I want to know is…..the feeling I get from the oil or the leaf is massively different to the high I got back in the day.
The comparison is night and day. The difference between having say, four pints of lager in an hour and having one pint slowly.
I’m not taking the MC for recreational reasons but I’m just thinking that I’m probably not getting the full benefit yet in terms of pain relief etc.

Any thoughts on that. Thanks 👍

Ps - I have so far only used the lowest heat seating on venti because of a negative experience the first time I turned the heat up and had advice to leave it lower.

There are so many variables involved and everyone is different so it's hard to answer definitively. I'm just going to focus on temps

So generally higher temps means more body effects and lower means more cerebral effects

It might be that it was a flower that's not suitable for you the first time and should be avoided next time rather than vaping everything at low temp

I find 200 better for body effects. If you smoked it in the past you were essentially going on the highest temp (fire) and so the effects maybe suited you better. Of course we don't know for sure what strain you were smoking, what strength, what profile, etc.

I would try a higher temp but with a relaxing Indica type strain, lavender cake is nice but it's quite a mild one, you could give it a go with that and there's no raciness to it whatsoever in my experience - in fact at 198 you should be getting a nice bit of Linalool from it which is really relaxing.

But to get close to what you are describing I'd really say you want a higher THC Indica leaning painkiller type strain vaped at 200 and see where you are then

Thanks for your reply….I’ve have a trial of altering temperatures and see what effect that has.
I’ll try lavender at the higher setting
Thanks again

No worries, some people will jump straight to that temp, others will have a few huffs at a lower temp first and then switch to the higher temp.

See how you go and let us know 👍

Cheers…at the moment, I only have between 1 and 3 puffs….I use a dosing capsule full and use it 3-4 times per day…
The first bad experience I had was when I had about 5-6 draws, the last one at a higher temperature

Hmm ok, could be something like by the third or fourth time all the terpenes have gone and you are just getting other cannabinoids on their own.

Something else to try could be to put less in the cap and just use it once on the high temp so you are not revaping the same stuff over and over

Just something to consider. Oils don't work for me. At all. Period. I tried multiple oils and even if I am consuming multiple times the daily suggested dose, barely a whisper.

I have consumed cannabis in about 15 different forms in 20+ years, but oils are the only ones that never worked for me.

They might be just as useless for you.

I step-vape my stuff. 174C for 1-2 minutes for maximum taste and terpene effects, then 205C to get maximum effects.

Red beard is gamma irradiated from south africa. I had some similar stuff 2-3x and for me, they were all just tea leaves. Taste like piss, barely any effects. I completely avoid gamma south african stuff since.

Lavender cake might be better quality but it's T20 so not necessarily enough for pain in small measures.

Look I am no expert on pain, I take it for mental health but as far as I know, pain patients benefit better from high THC strains. (again, forget gamma-irradiated south african tealeaves).

But the difference between a good Big Narstie strain or a quality Lumir® Kush Cookies, VS some Safricanna crap, can be MAGNITUDES, as in Completely Useless VS Actual Good Medicine.

Thanks - lots for me to ponder on there. The oil is working pretty well now….make me feel a bit sick and headachey after the peak but on the whole ok.
I’ve since found that I seem to tolerate the red beard better at a medium temperature - 180 yesterday left me very chilled
Thanks
