Hi, I'm new to the MC world and am currently waiting for my 1st delivery.
I have a bulging disc and some arthritis in my spine & nerve pain in my leg.
I went with the Cantourage, the process has been ok so far, the communication from the clinic staff is fantastic, but I was really disappointed after the Dr appointment.
The Dr chose some flower and oil, but having now read lots on here I don't think the flower is the best suited to my inflammation/pain problem, i guess i will have to wait 4 weeks and then try to change it.

Hi @cornucopia Welcome :)
Do not wait. If you feel up to it call them today or after others here might suggest the best meds for your condition. Your a private patient so your paying for good/fast service. Also re meds I've always got on better with the advice here together with Pharmacists or Clinicians. (y)

Thanks for your reply, I did raise the question with the clinic after the dr appointment but was told the prescription was already written and to change it I would have to wait 1 week as the dr only works 1 day each week. I’m so uncomfortable I decided to leave it and not delay things anymore as I am really hopeful the oil will help even if the flower is not the best strain.

No probs whatever works for you...but "have to wait 1 week as the dr only works 1 day each week." is a huge red flag. Which Oil is it? How much did they charge for it?

I’m really new to all this so wasn’t sure if it was standard across all clinics 🤷
it’s the Somaí 10/10 oil and it is £75 for a 30ml bottle

Good morning and welcome @cornucopia and It all sounds a bit slow with trying to get something changed but I would also say that often a strain can work for some and not for others so maybe all is not lost and hopefully you get some relief from it but not a great start to your MC journey and also with it being your first prescription I would expect it written by a specialist and the reason it may be slow in getting it altered ,where as in future your prescription will probably be dealt with by a prescribing Doctor and who may be more readily available . Thank you, I will definitely try it and keep my fingers crossed, it’s just a bit frustrating when it’s a large amount of money and also flower, at 10g , I was expecting 3.5g max to try until I know it is suitable. But it seems 10g is the smallest amount available.

Yes most patients have no option but to try 10g minimum and this has been an annoyance for a long time and whilst some can get 5g when with certain clinics the idea has not been embraced by most clinics unfortunately and keeping cost in check is paramount to us but to a new patient every strain is a trial and I absolutely understand your frustration with this .

Its quite a tough journey but we will help you as much as we can. Service/cost sadly varies wildly, I'd recommend Alternaleaf for a better range or CB1 Medical for an easy free transfer, but limited range.

Thank you, since joining Cantourage I have heard good things about both clinics that you mention 👍🏻

Welcome. Did you use cannabis before? If you did then I think they should be starting you on higher strength oil, but I'm not a medical professional, just basing it on my own experience.

The only problem is that even if you already use flower your tolerance for oil should still be zero in effect as they are totally different mechanisms in the body so in effect you could vape 3grams per day of flower even and still have no tolerance for oil and I think this may be why they start that way being precautious and building a tolerance.(y)

100%. I suppose I'm really asking if they are comfortable with the feelings and effects from it.
EDIT + I had oil 3x now and it varies so much, except the cost of course which remains stratospheric.

Welcome aboard, hope you get this sorted and they can be more responsive than once a week, I assume they let their one doctor have holidays too....

They can't make you pay for a script if the medicine hasn't been sent, so other than the timelines changing a script should not be a big deal and to be honest might be worth investing a week in working out what is most likely to work for you to minimise the number of wasted 10g purchases (I end up making hash when I have enough flower that doesn't work as is).

@node feeds right into my having a dedicated doctor(s) attached to a NFP manufacturer.
