Hey
So for about a year I've been looking into this, was introduced by drew on YouTube. I have a few questions maybe someone can help me with?

Vaporizer - I am going to get something from storz and bickle I have heard these are the best? Would that be correct? Is there any clinic that helps towards the cost or providing of vaporizers? Since I am on benefits due to disability and don't have an income from work.

Clinics - drew as far as I understand recommends Mamedica®, and when looking into this particular clinic it seemed very reasonable for patients on benefits. Is mamedica good? What clinics do others recommend that have access schemes for those on benefits?

Cost of flower - I assume that you aren't able to get the flower as a prescription like actual medication from a pharmacy on benefits where you can use the exemption to pay for it?

Strains - I know that different clinics offer different brands / strains etc. Which clinic offers the most variety?

Thanks :)

Welcome,

Vapes - storz and bickel are good but I think 'best' is subjective and is going to depend on what matters to the individual. I have S&B machines and I think they are good. The Venty being my fave. Certain pharmacies will have them VAT free I believe, but I don't know of a clinic discounting them. You might be able to get a second hand one cheaper on a selling site?

Clinics - don't believe everything you hear from people on YouTube that's all I will say on that. Since you already waited a year I would recommend taking a look at the clinics pages on here and see what general real life patient feedback is. Personally I was with Mamedica® for a while but ended up moving as they caused me more issues rather than helping me.

Cost of flower - there are no NHS exemptions, you can sometimes get flower at a discount, usually when close to expiry, but otherwise it's full price. There was a Grow access scheme that could be worth looking into but I've heard others say it's not really doing much right now.

Strains - my current clinic offers access to any any all CBPMs, that's Cannabis Clinic Cardiff, but they are expensive to join and a relatively high monthly cost so that might not suit you based on what you said about vape costs

Hope that starts you off, keep asking away 👍

Welcome to the forum @hybrid

It looks like your barking up the right tree with S&B vapes as many patients use these products successfully but on the clinics question @Lank72 is spot on as you've considered this for a while now so a good look through the clinics page will show that there are even better offers than Mamedica®'s which was competitive a couple of years ago when I joined them but a few clinics basically cost postage charge or a similar amount per month for access ie.£5/month and are much better value now .

Unfortunately you have to pay for medicines and this is where the main expense is with Medical Cannabis but recently the prices have started to drop with many products around £5-£6/g with some even cheaper but still a massive expense when on benefits .

Hey,

I’ve been using a Wolkenkraft FX Mini vaporizer for about 4 days now. You can get it on Amazon for around £75, while most other sites sell it for £95–£130. I’ve been smoking for years, and so far I find it works well for me.

It’s also my first vape in the medical field, so I think it’s a solid starter option if you want something effective without spending a ton on a Storz & Bickel.

Just my experience so far!

Thanks, how do I see the feedback from people on the clinics page? It's difficult on mobile sadly there is no mobile format for this site? Also could you maybe elaborate on the issues you had with mamedica?

Thanks everyone for the help!

There is mobile format for the forum but not the main wiki

I've put a link below to make it easier for you to find the threads for all clinics:

I'm pretty sure at least some of my Mamedica® issues will be mentioned in their clinic thread but the jist of it is, they would send my prescription boxes with things missing and not inform me, make it hard for me to get in touch with them, not resolve things, and were generally of the opinion that I didn't need to be told why my medication hadn't been posted.

They ignored many communications, consultations after seeing the doctor the first couple of times were a joke. Just doing a checklist, weren't interested in how I was doing, the person doing them not qualified to engage with you in any meaningful way about your treatment. When I made a complaint the final response was generic, didn't apologise, and didn't really touch on the issues.

I just overall got the impression that money was their first and foremost priority and they were running a budget service for high profit, and I felt that every time I had to interact with them:

Hello all.
So fast forward.
I am now a patient, despite the bad rep of Mamedica® I tried them first.
I got myself a mighty+medic as my vape of choice.
I am currently trying glitter bomb which seems to be pretty good overall for evening use.

I have a question, where would I post / ask for help finding strains to get hold of on UK medical?

I need a good daytime use strain to have alongside this current one, or another for evening such as Darth Vader/GDP/blueberry/blueberry jam

For daytime
I would ideally want Charlotte's web to try but since there is so many cross breads finding it by name is hard. I've found an alternative to Charlotte's web (northern lights) but again hard to find, I found frosted lime maybe a choice?
Or cherry kola.

So yeah I need a easier way to find strains.

A note on mamedica maybe I could add to feedback for them. So far they have been great and not messed me around. They have been quick and easy to get hold of and sort out any questions I have had, however this is very early stages of being with them of course.

Yes hybrid. I have a question, where would I post / ask for help finding strains to get hold of on UK medical? Here, basically...next question lol

Key Details of Charlotte’s Web Strain:
  • Origin: Developed in Colorado by the Stanley Brothers (Joel, Jesse, Jon, Jordan, Jared, and Josh) by crossing a marijuana strain with industrial hemp.
  • Name Origin: Named after Charlotte Figi, whose successful treatment for Dravet syndrome garnered national attention.
  • Cannabinoid Profile:
Known for having very high CBD (around 6-13%) and less than 0.3% THC, making it non-psychoactive ("Hippie's Disappointment").
    • Effects & Usage: Primarily used for its medicinal properties, including calming effects, reduction in seizures, and managing pain.
    • Characteristics: Sativa Hybrid with a taste/smell profile described as earthy, piney, with hints of citrus and floral sweetness.
    • Production: Originally, the strain was cultivated specifically to create an oil extract. It is also known to be produced via asexual cloning, with a patented cultivar designated as "CW2A"
You may be able to findout other similar cultivars/strains via profile matching to the nearest accuracy. Like snap lol!

Thanks. I tried there, I don't know if I'm just blind or struggling but I can't find the strains I want, I think it's mainly searching up the original strain Vs what it may now be called from breeding perhaps? I use leafly for finding desired strains but I know that can be difficult due to it being us based.

Welcome to the Community @hybrid there's plenty here in the forums regarding strains available, a lot of strains available do have the Genetics and Terpenes within that strain but unfortunately not all the strains available. Its down to cost why you don't see the genetics and Terpenes on some strains. There is plenty of flower available across the board/pharmacies/clinics. It can take a bit of navigation around the site here but you will get use it and there's plenty of Good Folk here to help you if needed👍

Nevertheless newbie to forum, Welcome my friend Hybrid, in sayin' that there's some unique minds on here who know their stuff from the get go (had to get that in there lol) that are often really quite kind and helpful, if you ask politely. Good Luck on ur journz...

Yeah I think I get ya. Where is this you're searching, on MedBud searching for Charlotte's web or cherry cola I just don't see anything at all.

Like I said though I was able to find a alternative for northern lights this way, I found frosted lime.

On the main MedBud site mate, you'll see a choice of Flower/Oils/Vapes/edibles along the bar, just click on the Flower option and it opens up to most Medical Flower available in the UK and when clicking on the strains available it will take you further into that particular strain, hope this helps I'm a bit baked today 😂
