Hi all. Around a week in now of my first script of MC flower (Lavender Cake, just 0.1g every evening) for chronic lower back pain. Can't seem to find a definitive answer, but is it usual to experience a headache during & after vaping MC if you're completely new to cannabis? Amazing results re my 25 year old back pain, no real pain since I started the MC, and I've now put the Tramadol & Naproxen away in the cupboard for the first time in 15 years! So yes fantastic re the back pain, it's just the bloody headaches. Got my follow up consultation soon, so will see what they say. Thanks👍🏻🫡

Hey, hard to say anything definitive as we all have different disabilities / long-term conditions we are treating and everyone is different.

I can say in my case, only one strain I've had has directly caused headaches - it's not been usual by any means. It could be your body getting used to something new, but you should speak to your clinician for a better read.

I know that some people can have adverse reactions to specific terpenes (Limonene seems to get the most negative comments with people avoiding it).

Not sure if some of the folks newer to cannabis may comment, for me it's been well over 20 years so have no read on what it would be like starting new

@AlphaPapa Hi mate, you drinking enough water? I try to discipline myself to drink more water, but its hard when its not warm outside. Headache to me usually means that.
Whats the latest advice? Aim for 2 or 3 Pints water / day?

Hi Lank72, many thanks for your reply. As you mention, it is quite possibly my body getting used to the effects, especially as a complete newbie. The different effects of the terpernes is an interesting one too. Will deffo bring it up with my soon to be review 👍🏻

Cannabis gives you drymouth when you vape it or smoke it (almost as though it causes the body to be using more, or at least signaling that you need more, water) so this is the easiest free thing to try and get better hydrated before you explore other stuff :)

Hi node, I drink mainly coffee but will deffo try and push myself to drink more water, makes absolute sense!
👍🏻
This is me also I'll drink coffee probably 90% or the day and this'll give me a niggly headache sometimes but going back to vaping it does seem like it's brought on by your vaping so definitely keep an eye on it but hopefully as others mentioned it could be something as minor as hydration and lets hope it stops as you get used to your new meds .

Some strains give me a headache don't know why but they do. Not that many thankfully.
I would just try another strain as there are a lot of good ones that don't give me a headache.
Hydration is important as well. I just have a pint of vimto while I'm medicating

Been chugging water since the replies this morning! Headache gone for now, see what happens this evening with my 0.1g 😂
