Intros Hi folks,I'm Chip, 54 years, and considering the medical cannabis route.

Hey chip,

Lots of nice peeps on here to give you some guidance. Best advice is don't choose a clinic until you do some research, some great some not so good always lots of good info available on here though... I'm with Montu , CB1 Medical Cannabis Clinic Cardiff all get really good feedback, the biggest definitely not best in my opinion 😉

Hi,I'm Chip,54,and thinking of using medical cannabis if people could give me advice I'd be most thankful.
Welcome to the forum @chip and it'll be a pleasure to help guide you along with this and see if you can get an improvement in your treatment .

When considering a clinic a few factors come into it like what conditions will be treated ,the level of service you expect and the costs involved .

Some clinics cost as little as £10/month(average cost over the year) + the cost of medication ,these like Alternaleaf and CB1 Medical and these clinics are favoured by many and have a reasonable selection of medications available to order .

I am with Cannabis Clinic Cardiff after transferring from Mamedica® after a problem over Christmas and find my new clinic excellent but it is more expensive to join but their service is top order along with their care for patients and choice of medications is second to none .

Medical Cannabis can help with lots of conditions so lets help we can guide you to the relief you seek and it doesn't have to be complicated and your at the right place to get the advice as between us here we have experience of many of these clinics and how to go about getting access .

Hey welcome - I don't recommend Mamedica®, I recently switched away from them too

I think that's all I can help with for now wihout a more specific question - that's my advice for now, see if you can think of the specific questions or areas you are unsure about and we will do our best to give insights / experience :)

And thank you to all for taking the time to reply/ answer.if OK I'd like to ask a few questions along the way as all this is basically new to me but looked into a bit over last few days and feel it might be the route for me to go down dependent on quality, price, service etc.

Yeah, been using for over three decades due to PTSD and depression primarily but developed a few physical problems with pain last few years as well.
You should be good to go for a Consultation 💯. You'll need to decide on a clinic and take into consideration what you can afford each month.

CB1 Medical is a good clinic and for choices of Cannabis Medication, its £50 per year and that covers all your Consultations, there are other clinics too but I can't really speak for them.

That's mainly what I'm seeking advice on is the fact that at present I get good quality street at 140 quid a month or £5 per gram. Are there any pharmacies which would guarantee a choice of such a price every month.I've recently had to give up work due to ill health and need to keep my costs down therefore. Also how in depth are the interviews to be accepted for medical cannabis? I have numerous health conditions where medical cannabis would help but have went over all of them with my GP and been treated with no respite from some of the problems? I also some months would use only one ounce per month whereas other months when health was worse might use a couple of ounce. How would this be viewed and if possible catered for by the companies prescribing MC.And thanks again, all the help and advice is very greatly appreciated.

Hi Chip, flower prices at the moment start at £4g and there is a few choices around the £5g mark. The Consultations are straight forward, you have nothing to worry about, just be yourself and be honest about your Cannabis consumption and how Cannabis helps you with your conditions. The doc will go over your Medical records before the consultation and if your with CB1 Medical you get to choose your flower with the doc, explain your financial situation at the moment, they are very understanding and know we have or most have use cannabis for our conditions. You have absolutely nothing to worry about, we have all been there. If you look on here at the available flowers around your price tag and would like to try, write them down so you have them to hand during your Consultation when choosing your meds with the Dr. You'll be given an allowance of flower each month, myself it's 60g a Month.

I'll add that sometimes on CB1 Medical's formulary I've struggled to find £5/g strains regularly and had to compromise and pay dearer but as more strains become available at this price they do seem to appear more often where as Montu tend to have these products more consistently at the moment.

So is Montu just a pharmacy or do they provide one with prescriptions? Sorry for the no doubt daft questions.

I assume this would be through CB1 mate? I'm not particularly worried around my medical case but do need to try and keep all costs as low as possible so as to be able to afford how much I need.I'm going to look into CB1 and see what info can get there. Thanks again sir.

Sorry for being vague it's my fault and the clinic is Alternaleaf and that is where you would join and they would prescribe you and Montu is their Pharmacy ,once again apologies (y)

@chip Hello + Welcome mate (y) a new clinic just opened, no idea about them, except they are effectively free.
Note the warning - but IMO thats the same for all of them. CB1 Medical, Alternaleaf, all of them (except Cannabis Clinic Cardiff - fees £650 1st year) try to make it v.hard to use an external.

This new kid on the block is already disrupting so its promising. (y)
