Intros Hi 👋 New to CB1 Medical

Hi!

I've avoided applying for MC for as long as I've known about it... Thought it would be too lengthy, a long and costly process... But things have actually been really smooth for me!

I received my SCR back within 24 hours from my GP, no drama. Reviewed the availability of clinics and affordability, and decided on CB1 Medical as they are in my local area (not that this matters). After filling out the initial questionnaire with them, I have already booked my first appointment within 24 hours of enquiring. Exciting times.

I figured I'll have some questions and need some more information at some point, so joined the community and here I am

Welcome @ Sunshine my other half has just done exactly the same journey after putting it off for various reasons, She's now had her appointment yesterday which went fabulously and 24 hours later she's already passed the MDT approval needed after the appointment, been issued her prescription and paid for it and been informed when it'll arrive. All this within 24 hours of her appointment with the specialist .We found the app really easy , so far , but any advice with the process we just went through I'll gladly share.
There's a few members here just starting with CB1 Medical so your in good company.

I have a rough idea of what to expect from the process, (having researched so much beforehand trying to decide if I'd be accepted), but still feels a bit unreal... Especially after self medicating for the past 20 years via BM

I have my 1st appointment a week on Sunday, which I thought was odd... On a Sunday? I'm not very good on the spot, I much prefer the time to process questions and take my time articulating an answer... But hoping that just highlights my need for meds! Guess feeling anxious is part of it all, and passing the initial assessment seems to be the most difficult part (before finding suitable strains in stock ).

I will be around with more questions no doubt! Appreciate the friendly welcome

No problem to help all I can and others here too will also chime in with helpful tips , long time self medicating here as well as you'll find a lot of members here in the same boat,
I've been in a few appointments myself over the last 15 months but rest assured they are very user friendly and put you right at ease, as CB1 Medical did yesterday with my wife and Mamedica® have done with me, Really I can't emphasize enough how relaxed the consultations are and in a couple of weeks you'll be a legal medicinal cannabis patient.

Feel I do need to point here I'm a patient just like yourselves and having not engaged with social media and the canna community for years I'm very much in the same boat as a lot of people here ,this place for me personally has been sort of lifechanging engaging with you all and decalcifying my brain after a spell of inactiveness , I just tend to share what I have learned from MedBud ,our real host and the entity that has made all this possible and also the site that help guide me onto Medical Cannabis. We are very much a small but growing entity in this forum and the goodwill here is a pleasure to be a part of.

10 days until my 1st appointment...
Feeling confident.

Today I've talked about my medical journey with a friend, and have had several conversations about it with my SO (he is supportive of MC). He knows I'm quite excited /anxious about it all and continues to reassure me.

I'm still in awe of the efficiency of CB1 Medical, and the smooth process of it all so far. Today, I'm feeling confident that the appointment will go smoothly. I remind myself of the benefits I feel with cana, and how much self medicating has helped... From every day struggles to considerable crises, it has has saved me in multiple ways, on many occasion. I'm hoping that as long as I can communicate that, I will be prescribed.

Unbelievably receiving first products in the morning after first appointment on Tuesday , really looking good from their end .
Time'll fly now ,try passing the time thinking of what strains etc you feel will benefit you ,so when your appointment arrives you've also got some input on strain choice ,especially if you know a bit about what does work.
Can easily take me ten days to pick my strains each month

6 Days to go until 1st Consultation...
Having mixed feelings about what to expect.

I've been taking in as much as I can about clinics, consultations, pharmacies and how the Formulary works for CB1 Medical across videos and forums.

I've come across some posts on Reddit whereby people have experienced quite a restriction on the medication they can choose whilst with CB1 Medical.... i.e., they are prescribed a certain type, and not permitted to deviate from that type (strain). Is this something people from the MedBud community have experienced with this clinic?

I'm also curious as to how your "max THC" is identified!

For "max THC" , I think is for the first time or cannabis naive patients. As you've already been self medicating with BM, which is not low THC, I think you'll be fine.

I would suggest you try and get an idea of what you would like off their formulary if only to add input when discussing what you think will work for you or strains/types of canna that has worked with you in the past, also your previous BM use of canna should reassure them ,where as they may be extra wary of a patient who has no experience of BM canna at all. They did suggest a strain with my wife that would of been suitable at some point in the day ,but being a pain patient she does need strong canna in the evening when the pain flairs up and to help with sleep whether BM or MC so mentioned this .They were receptive to the fact she wanted to try CBD/THC products as well and it turned out she ordered just 1 high THC product and the rest were round the 21% mark ,next time she may require more higher THC products ,she also had the advantage of seeing the product she requested previously and the effect it had with me .
I have heard of the THC limit from another member ,I'm sure he mentioned 25%, but I would raise it on the day if I felt it could be a problem ,also it could be for new patients?

Also we used their pharmacy this time just not to over complicate things and get the ball rolling but others have sent their scripts through other pharmacies first time.

They will add something to pay for when ya get first script just ring em and get it changed to what you want off formulary

As per your previous advice @GrownHealth, I have spent some time and meticulously researched their current available formulary within my budget. (Money is particularly tight, especially as I'd like to upgrade to the S&B Mighty Medic soon! )

I've made notes of a few, all around the 20-25% range, predominantly Sativa dom Hybrids. I can (hopefully) communicate why I feel those specific type are beneficial to me during the day.

I have 'accepted conditions' and formal diagnoses for MC, but in honesty, the MC is most helpful for a condition I'm not yet diagnosed with... And I'm not sure how that conversation will go during my consultation, or if I should even mention it.

The whole pharmacy delivery thing - I'm still learning about! Does that mean one could order from Formularies outside of CB1 Medical? - apologies if that's a daft question... Having a little brain fog today

I've not tried I just looked at what was due in next few days and put order in. This is my first order. I'm just waiting on it to be sent out which should be today I'm hoping. I can't afford any more street weed that's for sure. So I'm laying in bed now unti it arrives doing as little as possible.
