I pressed a second time new sheet of paper and still got some more out of it, it scrapped up in seconds mate

I'm trying to get to bed, I can't move phew that's strong and it was only the Gelato it tasted OK at first but had to bang the pen temp up due to the high temps of pressing . I can imagine that through a Ruby twist with the banger too . The kitchen stinks I'll try my best to get up before the other half in the morning

It works! I ended up on highest temp for a satisfying feeling, obviously a ruby will be way better, but i am happy with this for future situations when i am out and about etc.

Had a go doing a press test this afternoon and ended up pressing 5g about 4 times and every time I got more it was glorious when I folded them but still only bout 1gram total.

I feel stupid now, i never thought about repressing again and again, no wonder my yield was low!

The best temp you have found?
How long you press for?
How much pressure?
Are you getting yellow waxy rosin or dark harder?
Please....

I only have some OG Kush left for testing then I have to use the good stuff.

Observations:

Last night I searched the net re my dark colour rosin and met another MC user who stated its really hard to get nice yellow rosin from MC as the MC is to dried out and old, he suggested the only decent way he gets nice rosin from MC is fresher batch with no irradiation. Not ready to test my Pave or pink kush yet!

Others say dont worry about the colour, but its hard not to when you watch the YouTube vids of pouring yellow wax.

The difference between my GMO and KK mints done exactly the same is night and day, the GMO made shatter, the KK a gue. So the strain really does affect it. I have just done 5 grams of Zour Apples that i really did not like, 160 lighter pressing hardly a drop, taking it up and up on temp and pressure hardly any return, utterly shit bud.

Apparently we should not be using our rosin right away it needs curing for at least 48 hrs, and many cure for a week stirring after 48 hrs. Don’t think I can produce enough to stir!!

Started at 180 degrees on both plates and let the puck preheat with the plates in slight contact for about a min the bag was folded where it wasn't filled but I cut this off after first press
Pressed it in three stages of 40 secs ish ,each time tightening the clamp till eventually leftr for a minute and released and the result wasn't brilliant and felt a bit disheartened

Went again with it folded in half now and I think I raised temps to 190 and repeated above but with much better results and a more yellowy rosin but it went brittle as it hit the colder air.

The final times I put it on 200 degrees and just basically squished it and left for say just over a min and it kept giving and I would of done it again if it wasn't going into cannabutter the old puck!

Admittedly it's like treacle today but for getting the juice out it was ok

On the final press your third stage how much pressure, i maxed it so you could not pull the lever more?

The real test will be the Pave s1 as non irradiated and fresh, but not ready to risk some of that yet.
Do you think the puck helps or is essential? i have tried breaking bud up and grinding (same results) then just making tidy in bag and letting temp light press sort.

They're experienced and we'll soon get the knack but in answer to the question each time it ended on max pressure with the puck sitting above where the bottle jack is and without getting to excited on the lever as I've already broke/damaged one of the pull out tables from under the main coffee table

It's very much strain dependent, I start higher with a new strain and see what the first press looks like then adjust accordingly. Another useful guideline is to see at what temp the terpenes burn off, I seem to recall the main terp in PK was somewhere around 160, so if you want to keep all terpenes or lose a certain terp, keep that in mind.

I have my press on the floor and as I'm a bit skinny I do a kinda push up to get max pressure by putting my entire body weight through the lever..... deep if that lever gives out before I buy a fancy hydraulic job.

For return weight I think I'm gonna do OK, some is coming off easy collecting but where it's thicker in oil it's taking longer to scrap off as its still a bit gooey where I made puddles.

Have you tried the cold metal plate method? Also some is super greasy straight off the press, open the paper up and wave it around a few times and it oxidises/sets. Most of the you tube videos were you see a stream of very pale liquid are people pressing bubble hash made from fresh frozen harvested as early as possible to avoid dark amber trichomes making it amber rather than golden. IMHO they are sacrificing quality for aesthetics....

Just getting the hang of this pen I ordered the coil king A10 and its really hand friendly once loaded and just sent me into a coughing frenzy so I think that knocks on the head any idea of smoking today hopefully

Have you tried the cold metal plate method? Also some is super greasy straight off the press, open the paper up and wave it around a few times and it oxidises/sets. I'll try this, I have some bud from last autumn, from some Northern Thunder Fuck I grew, only one plant. I can practice on this as it didn't cure well, my fault as forgot about it, but it'll do for some practice.

Ajust the temp up or down to where you had it, there's 3 heat settings on it, I had it on max and it maxed me out
