I also forgot to ask you Moon, how long are the heating elements lasting you, you've had it a couple of weeks now and I was wondering if you've had to change the the one that came with it please?

What press is it, do both plates heat up?I still haven't got the pressing down yet to warrant getting oneI think my press is just rubbish.

Still on the original. Did buy 2 spares. The element works like a ceramic hob, it's underneath the glass bowl, so it cant really get damaged. This is why cleaning the bowl is just a swipe while still hot with a cotton bud. It's wonderful.

Just fired up my matrix bowl for the evening and at 280 degrees with a bowl of Mac Daddy and Kush mixed not even a cough or a splutter but just a lovely smooth inhale and a nice relaxed feel after.

Its a generic heat press I think, but both plates get hot, maybe I'm doing it too hot?
I might get my thermal gun on the plates to see if the temp that it is showing is true!.

Yes you need to know the temps your pressing at, it'll be hit and miss otherwise and waste of flower
I'd say between 170 and 190 degrees , I've settled on 174 and I've just leave it at that .
Lower temps tends to mean better terpene preservation but less rosin and you press it for a bit longer but the results are better quality I reckon.
Higher temps is the opposite and a much darker colour I find and doesn't need as long to get the rosin out .

I've used it in the past over the years but I am finding now I'm using it selectively and its a definite improvement of my MC experience just having the option .
Also now in hindsight I wish I'd got the press like smacksalads if I'd of had the means as I'll be doing this long term .
