Intros Hello. New here and a bit confused. (Vape Carts)

Indeed, BCM effectively relegated themselves to complete obsecurity with the sky-high oil prices. The oil segment of the market is over-saturated in general, nearly as many medications available as flower, but with something like 1/20th of the demand.

We've seen flower prices drop massively over time, but oils, carts and pastilles are still exorbitantly expensive IMO. Part of that is just down to the low demand by comparison.

That said, we have seen interests in the 10 or so carts available surpass the 80ish oils available already 👀

Hello 👋 I’ve already got a dry herb vape, which is okay when outdoors, but stood outside my parents stinking of white widow or at the nursing home to see mum with dementia, at the train station or at the bus stop, the dry herb vape just isn’t discreet enough. The carts can be used at all these places without any heavy smells or reloading over and over with pre ground weed, one or two pulls on a cart is the same as a full dry herb dose, that’s how it felt for me- I had an opportunity to try the carts a few months ago and they were the perfect swap from joint to vape cart.
I'm considering trying carts as I'm struggling with the transition between smoking and using my desktop vapouriser. I've seen a lot of negativity about distilate etc and agree with it. I'd only want a full spectrum cart but what I wanted to ask was this. I've used a small pod vape since stopping smoking tobacco. This has been really effective as you get a good kind of hit from it. Are the carts similar?

I had the opportunity to try one recently too, and was actually quite impressed. The Upstate pens literally look like metal pens - there's a hole in the lid/cap you can use discreetly toke without even taking the lid off.

If it wasn't for the pricing versus flower, I'd add them to my own script. I'd need to see £20-30 a cart first though 👀

Recently added this explanation text on the top of our main vape cart table, should help too:
  • We recommend looking at cost per active milligram (MG) as the best way to evaluate value for money.
  • Comparing only cannabinoids, a 400mg cart is equivalent to around 2g of 20% flower, or 1.33g at 30%. An 800mg 1g cart is equivalent to 4g at 20%, 3.33g at 24% or 2.66g at 30%.
  • Generally 10g of higher THC flower is equivalent to roughly 3-4 1g carts, or 5-8 0.5g carts. Exact cannabinoid amounts should be compared for accurate dosing.
  • For unknown reasoning, some clinics have a policy to treat each cart as 10g less flower able to be prescribed, as a blanket policy.
Thank you 👍

I’m aware of the carts equations flower to g to THC/CBD ratio, so I’ve a good idea what dosage will work. I’ve really been looking into this for over a year (well before thinking of using a clinic) as the carts are highly recommended, I’ve seen the whole process from the rosin press how it’s extracted, decarbed, then used and how a rosin cart differs from a nicotine vape, after trying one first hand I would pay the extra for the vape cart, for me it’s the ability to carry 1 or 2 carts instead of carry my flower script and the ease to dose. Most dry herb vapes take too much, mine is a min of 0.5g flower or it doesn’t work properly. what I’d make 2 joints from (0.25g per J) and space them out over a few hours, most people would have in 1 vape session, then repeat. I can’t just have 4-5 pulls of a dry herb vape then put it down, it’s vape the lot in 1 go and for me that’s too much of a hit to then have a relaxing walk. The only time the dry herb vape is ok is when it’s bed time 😂 The carts have so many pros for my conditions it’s value for money.

Rosin carts are expected early next year, will publish on the main database as soon as we're able to (y)

Agree completely, vape carts have a major advantage in terms of being discreet, while retaining 'pocketablity' for when you're on the go. I personally loath trying to carry around scrunched up foil packs in my pocket.

The 'value for money' side of things we expect to improve early next year, first brand hopefully minus 20-30%.

I’ve tried the carts (I was given them to try as my friend was at a clinic who said they were amazing). So I tried 4 different carts over a month, they were brilliant for my mental health, just the right amount to dose, 3 pulls of the cart were same as a j, relaxed, calming, body unwound, perfect.

Why I’m after cartridges not pastilles.

I’ve just tried oil for the first time today…. ok, it worked, but definitely can see issues dosing while out and about travelling, if you’re sat at home all day oils very nice, but god it tastes awful, very floaty journey in the car too 😂

My wife has the mint flavoured oil and says its actually pleasant enough taste ,but I've had some oils that taste like you say . 😝

It tasted like I’d licked some old squidgy black and got some stuck in my mouth for a few hours, it was “mmmm yummy, this brings back memories” at first, but only for about 5 mins.. 🤣

So, I’ve emailed Curaleaf, and they’ve said I HAVE to take the gummies for 3-4 weeks before I can discuss changing anything.. and it makes out if I don’t accept the gummies as treatment I’ll be denied treatment.. 😡

Simply put, Curaleaf have said I must pay £68 for 28x10mg tablets, 280mg of tablets. I’d need 1 full pack a day at least.. so £68 per day for 3-4 weeks… and I’m not allowed to say no!!

Not sure if I should just ring and cancel my application with curaleaf or just apply at another clinic? Im actually that flaming angry I’m thinking of just sticking with the black market, if this is the kind of nonsense clinics put mental health patients through there’s no help is there?!

If your not already a patient I would suggest they are not suited to you it seems ,if you are already a patient then you seem to of got off to a very bad start.
Let us now how you want to go on and we'll help all we can (y)

Also we have a member who is experienced with gummies here and abroad and seems to get benefit from using them in much lower quantities than you are suggesting .

No you don't, consent is a fundamental tenet of medical ethics. You can say no to anything, without penalisation. This seems worth raising with the English clinics regulator, CQC. No company should be trying to treat their clinic as a means to coerce patients into being prescribed their own products.

Not sure if I should just ring and cancel my application with Curaleaf or just apply at another clinic?
Our advice would be do so, immediately. We'll further cover what's been happening to you here on our X account shortly, I'm somewhat gobsmacked even reading there's attempts to force you into medication you don't want and don't believe is suitable for you.

Cannabis absorbed via the gut/liver has a complete different effect to anything inhaled via the lungs, and shouldn't be considered directly comparable, this is a cannabis 101. We're talking here about massively varying proportions of what's metastasised into either Delta-9 (Δ9-Tetrahydrocannabinol) vs Delta-11 (11-Hydroxy-THC), which both have massively differing effects.

Take a look at this just to confirm it’s 10mg THC per pastille, 14 pastilles from £34.30.

140mg THC for £34.30, there’s 150mg in 1g of standard flower!

This has blown my mind!!

Going to be honest, I was protesting for legislation since 2001, wrote to the home office in 2010, had a letter from Cyril Marcel from the drug strategy unit. This isn’t just a small battle, just getting here has taken 13 years to the point I could go legal. So I’ve been trying to go legal for over a year and it’s been nothing but stress, agitation, rejection, threats from GP, feeling of failure after failure, ffs I’m already giving up on life, it’s all a pointless waste of time.

Seriously, I’ve grown my own weed in the past (I wasn’t a dealer, everything was personal use only- not even friends knew), I know all about strain specific peak harvest, perfect trichome mixtures for Sativa and Indica. I had rotations of white widow, White Russian, purple haze, ak47, northern lights. For those wonderful years I had the ability to grow my own I’ve made my own oils, extracts, hashes, I make canna cakes and coffees, I’ve been using this beautiful healing plant for over 20 years, I know my doses like the back of my hand, I know what works and what doesn’t.

Got these clinics telling me I have to vape flower but it’s illegal if bake a cake or make a coffee…illegal or “wrong” to bake a cake… and they call me insane. It’s making my blood boil, or telling me they’ll sell me oil for double the price I can make myself, or edibles for quadruple the value…

20 years experienced cannabis cultivator, (auto flower seeds were a miricle and a game changer for hidden outdoor grows) over 10 years experience making extracts for myself, then spoken to and treated like I’m a 16 year old kid after a 20 bag of weed, by someone with less than 6 years “professional” experience.

I literally said to the GP this morning I was done with it all. Even going to cancel my mental health appointment, there’s no professionals left, it’s all just empty heads and titles now.. very sad day for me, I really thought “yes!! We’ve got this sorted, I can relax now”.. how wrong.

Peace and love to all. I’m going back into hermit mode. Don’t have a prescription for flower but I’ve got a prescription for some diazepam, YEY for opiates 😔, which nobody cares about… don’t care if they make me an opiate addict, just another tablet to the brainless professionals,

Keep myself to myself and carry on ✌️ Over and out x

No Brother help is at hand don't give up your at the right place with like minded people there are other clinics out there that you will be amazed at ,please don't give up your here at the right place ,just let us help you sort this and get you on the right path .
I myself am currently changing clinics because of not getting what I expected out of a clinic but I know help is at hand although I'm only in the process I'm confidant I as you can end up at the right place 💚

@AndyH82 What you actually require prescription wise sounds simplistic and most places would accommodate your needs I'd imagine and you sound like you've got loads of experience to share with us ,even MC aside hang around stuff will fall into place .

I've personally was under the radar for many years in the past so to speak and pretty much new what I needed from MC which was the addition of Sativa Hybrids ,in your case its Vape carts to give you the completion of the tools you need to get through the week.
